about Brent & Amanda:

What do we know best? Love, Weddings, and Millie Holloman Photography! We're Brent and Amanda; we're in love, we're married, and we know Millie better than anybody. As company photographers, we're faithful to her style while adding a dose of our own unique perspective.
This is where you'll find our work, our thoughts, and our take on the world as seen through the MHP lenses. We're based in Wilmington, NC, but just like Millie, we'll travel anywhere to get great shots. We hope you love our blog as much as we love each other!

Shortly before Christmas, one of our good friends, Klif approached us about doing a surprise photo shoot in early January for him and his lovely wife Melissa. Many of you may know Melissa and Klif who have been past models for us on several shoots. Klif wanted to do something very special since it was their 10th wedding anniversary! Brent and I were more than happy to be a part of the surprise! Klif arranged for the session to take place on the Battleship (it is stationed just over the bridge from downtown Wilmington).
It was a cold day, but Brent and I had a blast and Melissa and Klif were a couple of pros in front of the camera. There were many moments where we just goofed around and belly-laughed. During the shoot, Klif also arranged for his parents and Melissa's parents to meet on the boat with some drinks and appetizers. Melissa had no idea and was completely surprised! After the shoot Melissa, Klif and their families headed to The Little Dipper (a super-delicious fondue joint downtown). Brent and I were lucky enough to go as well and it was a well spent evening with friends.
Thanks to Melissa and Klif for your friendship. Congrats on the first ten years! |

When the sun starts to go down, and the city lights start to glow, you can't beat the view!

Congrats to Melissa and Klif! We love you both!

I love being a wedding photographer for many reasons. Meeting new people and building friendships with them, being a part of such a happy occasion, traveling and wedding cake, YUM! Another great part of the wedding industry is meeting other wonderful people with a passion for love. Meet the Life Stage Films crew headed up by Matt Davis. He and his lovely wife, Melissa, started their business as a two man/woman team documenting wedding days through video. Now, the business has grown and added other talented members to the a href="http://www.lifestagefilms.com/" target="_blank">Life Stage Team.
For Life Stage, it's all about documenting your day in a fun, modern, momentous way. Everyone I have worked with on the team has been sweet, professional and easy to work with throughout each wedding. They don't just stop at weddings... they also document families, babies and more. If you are in need of a videographer take a peek into a href="http://www.lifestagefilms.com/" target="_blank">Life Stage and see what it's all about!
Thanks again to the whole Life Stage team for a great session. Brent and I had fun and it was great to see the whole gang!

Matt (videographer, owner, husband and dad). Matt is a wonderful guy with a big heart! It's always a pleasure working with him at weddings and I always look forward to seeing his work.

Melissa (videographer, owner, wife, mom and super awesome!) Love seeing her at weddings and catching up on life. So much fun!

Amy (videographer) who has been a part of the team for quite some time. Amy and I are in a small group together from church and see each other on a regular basis. Always nice to see her lovely face at weddings too!

Kara (she's one of the editors on the team and in the orange shirt), Zach (one of the videographers), and Jamie (Studio Manager). All wonderful and talented!

In an earlier blog post you met Carly and Chris who were coming up on their wedding date very quickly! Well the wedding was wonderful and Carly and Chris were so happy. Though it will be a little while until a sneak peek on the blog of the wedding, I wanted to post images from Carly's bridal session.
Since Carly was getting married downtown she thought it would be great to incorporate some of the the local scenes in downtown Wilmington. After the spending some time in the historic heart of Wilmington we decided to head out to the more rural parts. Since Carly was open to anything, I decided to play and create a little more out in the countryside. The bugs were terrible, but the moments were worth it. Thanks again to Carly for a fun session and congratulations to both you and Chris on your marriage! |

I love the light in this next series of images. It's so pretty and reflects of Carly beautifully.

Carly has a pair of boots that she loves and wanted to wear during her session. A grassy field is a great place to use them!

I thought it would be fun to play around with the idea of a simple tea and cakes party during the session. Thanks to Coastal Cupcakes (a local cupcake boutique) for supplying the sweet treats during the session. Yum!

Thanks Carly! You were beautiful during your session, beautiful on your wedding day, and beautiful still!

This past weekend, Amy married Jeremiah, the man of her dreams! Below are some images from her bridal session that we photographed earlier in the year. Now that she's married, we can share them with you. When I spoke with Amy about her session she mentioned that she wanted her images to reflect a sense of being in a garden. Brent and I decided to head over to Landfall's Arboretum (a country club neighborhood with beautiful homes and landscapes in Wilmington).
You would never know it, but it was a little on the chilly side when we started Amy's session, but Amy braved the wind chills perfectly. Her dress was gorgeous, her smile genuine and she looked radiant. I can't wait to see the images from the wedding! |

Amy had this image printed onto a canvas for her reception. Love it!

Love the colors in this image, not to mention the look on Amy's face! Hey Jeremiah, has anyone told you how beautiful your wife is?

One of my personal favorites.

Sometimes, wind works to our advantage and allows us to play around with movement. So fun!
