Hi! I'm Millie, a photographer based in Wilmington, NC. I travel all over the world photographing weddings, families, kids and grads. I specialize in a more candid approach to my photographs. I most enjoy capturing people in a comfortable environment being themselves.
This blog was created so that you can see my latest work, what I am up to, and a bit of my personal life so that you can get to know me better. Our Shoots & Ladders sets have been a huge success with loads of bookings and we’ve had lots of requests for Charlotte & Raleigh Christmas sessions! Although we can’t bring the sets your way quite yet, we did want you to have the opportunity to participate in our mini sessions this season. This session is for familes and kids of all ages. Attention parents: We are making your life even easier because this time around our session fee includes a full family shot and images of the little ones (we’ve extended the time by 10 minutes to be sure to fit everything in as our Christmas gift to you). The session fee also includes 25 Christmas Cards. Don’t have kids? That’s okay, you can play, too; just read below for details.

Below are the details. Each city has only two days of shooting and it's sure to fill VERY quickly, so email to book right away!
DETAILS
$200 session fee includes a family shot and images of the kids during a 30 minute mini session (up to 3 kids - $25 per additional child) + 25 5x7 Christmas Cards (complete with envelopes)
location: Rachel will be shooting our Charlotte families at The Green | Rebecca will be shooting our Raleigh families on Fayetteville Street! (exact address' for both locations will be given upon booking)
dress: bundle! hats, winter coats, mitten, scarves. Think layers and lots of fun!
We'll present the images (10 proofs) to you online within two weeks of the session!

Your session must be paid when booking. Payments are non-refundable. Choose your time carefully, once it’s chosen it’s reserved just for you. Be punctual. I've known Lindsey and Gray for quite some time now. I've been working with Lindsey in the wedding industry for several years and they are also my neighbors, so we get to chat on the front porch and enjoy one another's company quite often. Earlier this year when these two announced they were expecting little Ms. Tilley Gray I could not have been more excited for them. Two things I know about little Miss before she even officially arrives in November: 1. she is joining one stylish family with an adorable nursery. 2. she is already loved beyond measure. She's the first little girl in several generations and the first grandchild on both sides so she's sure to get some spoiling and I'll help with that of course!
We started out in their sweet little home (which is going to be featured in HGTV magazine soon, it's that cute)! Tilley Gray's nursery wasn't quite complete but it was far enough along for you to get an idea of it's adorableness including all of the fabulous paper mache animals from Anthropologie! |
| The shadows in the room? That's a light they purchased from Ikea and it's fabulous, they spray painted it gold and I'm in love with the mood and texture it adds to this sweet nursery. |
| This little bunny was purchased on a trip to Paris before little Miss Tilley Gray was in the picture, it's been awaiting her arrival for quite some time! |

For this session I drove about an hour south of Houston, Texas to a little town named Boling. Not only is Boling home toV8 Ranch one of the greatest cattle ranches in the world (I learned this while on the session along with a bazillion other details about the cattle industry), it's also home to Catherine and Luke, who I photographed when they were in town for a one-2-one session a couple of months back.
Right before Catherine and Like left we discussed them hiring me to do a session for Catherine's parents during a trip I had planned to Houston just a few short weeks later. When they told me I would shoot on the ranch with all the cows, I was super excited! I've never shot around Brahman cattle, until this session and had so much fun learning about their lifestyle and industry!
This session was a celebration of Jim and Luann since they've been married for 35 years! There was also another reason to create images for this lovely couple... Jim's recent weight loss. He has lost a total of 120 pounds in the last year and is looking fantastic!

| Jim brought along a love letter to read to Luann during the shoot. I'm thinking he should teach other guys how to write love letters to their lady, he is so romantic and sweet and he knows just the words to say. I'm pretty sure he set the bar high for any other guy to follow! I love this shot when Luann first realized he was going to read her a love letter he wrote and she was giddy with excitement. |

| I met Luke and Catherine when they drove in from Houston, Texas for a one-2-one with me! I knew these two were going to be fun and they didn't prove me wrong. They were a blast to shoot and I got to hang out with them for a one-2-one session the following day. They have an awesome dog named Wilma, they know how to have a good time, they say the cutest little phrases, and they are totally crazy about one another. I'm actually heading out to Houston for a wedding this weekend and I'll be getting to meet Catherine's family while I am there and tour their big old Texas ranch, there is even be a photo shoot scheduled ;) so stay tuned! |

| This shot was taken at "The Atrium by Ligon Flynn"... along with many of the shots below. The Atrium is our new office building and the courtyard can be rented our for wedding ceremonies. I get to walk past this into my office every day! I can't wait to blog more about our new space coming soon! |

During the Love Affair Workshop in Dallas, Texas this year we had a "Watch Us Shoot" session where all of the attendees floated around and watched myself and the three other instructors shoot. We had a very limited space to work in and had to make the most of it and it was actually a rather fun challenge to make what we had work. Ryan and Cary were so great to work with and so willing to do whatever was asked of them including, jumping a bazillion times, dancing like freaks, wearing dorky glass, and being sexy for my camera. Here is a little peek of what I shot for you Love Affair Workshop ladies who were watching behind the scenes!
