Megan and Michael's wedding took place at the beautiful Highgrove Estate in Fuquay-Varina. It was my first time shooting there, but it was amazing, and I hope to be back very soon!
Megan's dress was gorgeous, and absolutely perfect for her! |

I love the lace trim and the ribbon details. Lovely!

Megan had all her bridesmaids hide away while she put on her dress so she could see their reactions once the whole look was complete. It was a really fun moment to see all their faces as they caught a glimpse of such a beautiful bride!

Megan, you really are beautiful! I'm pretty sure that smile lights up a room wherever you go.

The flower girls carried these cute little bouquets, and I just couldn't resist grabbing this shot. I love these flowers! So simple, but elegant and perfect for this event!

After everyone was all dressed and ready, the girls prayed for Megan and Michael and their marriage. It was a really beautiful moment.

Megan's dad was so cute! He couldn't wait to see her, and when he did, his reaction was priceless! My favorite thing all day was overhearing what he said to her right before they walked down the aisle. I couldn't repeat it verbatim, but it was so sweet and touching, it had me in tears. That is one proud daddy!

And then it was time to walk down the aisle! Michael was so excited to see his bride!

And I think Megan was equally excited to see her groom!

The ceremony was beautiful and personal and exactly perfect for Megan and Michael!

One of my favorite things from the ceremony was when the pastor had Megan and Michael turn around and take a moment to see everyone who had come to share in this special day with them. With the way a wedding day passes by in a blur, this was a nice little pause for them to be able to stop and just take in the moment.

I love the color Megan chose for her bridesmaids to wear. And that they all had a different style of dress.

And the guys all got a different tie, so fun!

Megan and Michael have a playful side as well as just being beautiful people. Megan brought along these mustaches for some of the photos. I loved getting to play around with everyone and be a little silly!

A seriously fun bridal party! And such good sports!!

Megan planned in some time for photos of just her and Michael, and with how beautiful the grounds are at the Highgrove, we used every second!

You two make a seriously great looking couple!

This one just makes me laugh!

The reception area was set up with lots of beautiful details, which my assistant for the day, Wendy, was able to capture while I was with Megan and Michael. Thanks Wendy!

If you ever wanted to see a couple seriously in love... well, you're looking at them!

A sweet first dance as husband and wife.

And then it was party time! These people LOVE to dance!

A little sparkler action for the exit!

Congratulations, Megan and Michael! Thanks for letting me be a part of your day!

Margaux and Will's Pinerhurst North Carolina wedding reminded me of a fairytale. Or maybe even a royal wedding. Either way, it was traditional, sophisticated, and just lovely! It could not have been a more beautiful day and Margaux could not have been a more beautiful bride.

Margaux and her sweet sister Olivia sharing a fun moment.

My assistant for the day, Elizabeth, captured this beautiful shot of Margaux. Love it!

This next shot is proof positive that my clients have awesome senses of humor. Love the light, love the blank stare, love everything!

Margaux's father, Jim, wore the best bowtie ever. He's a true southern gent!

After the ceremony, Margaux and Will shared a few moments together as the guests gathering outside the church for the carriage exit. Emotions are always so high right after the "I Do" is said.

A classic horse and carriage ride after the ceremony was the perfect way to celebrate Margaux and Will's vows.

The wooded area behind the chapel is one of my favorite places for photos of a wedding party. That light is so amazing!

While I captured this image...

...my awesome second shooter was capturing these.

Margaux, you are such a gorgeous girl!

Chef Jim Noble and his beautiful wife Karen toasted alongside the groom's parents. It's really sweet to see families join together in celebration of their children!

I don't think I was the only one shocked when this moment happened! It was awesome!

The band did an incredible job getting people moving on the dance floor!

A traditional bird seed exit at the end of the night left the crowd cheering and Margaux and Will covered!

Margaux and Will, you were a joy to work with! Thank you for inviting me into this special time in your lives. Many congratulations to you and both families!!

Ashley lights up a room. I (Rachel) only had the pleasure of meeting her for the first time on her wedding day, but I honestly don't think it was just because she was the bride. She radiates with confidence and positivity and everyone around her seems to light up as well when she's around. Including Ryan. :) It was such a pleasure to see this head-over-heels-in-love couple tie the knot!
I started the day in downtown Wilmington, North Carolina, with the girls as they helped Ashley into her dress. My jaw literally dropped when I saw her! What a stunning bride!

Ashley had a surprise present for Ryan before the ceremony. A few of his groomsmen began to tear up a little while he was reading it.

Ashley and Ryan's love story is a beautiful one. They had been dating for quite a while (I believe they said 8 years). Throughout their courtship, Ashley and Ryan's focus was centered around their relationship with God. So much so that they decided not to kiss before their wedding day. Just moments before Ashley walked down the aisle, she led a worship and prayer service with her bridesmaids. What a wonderful way to begin a marriage!

As the beautiful Ashley walked down the aisle, all eyes were glued to her. Ryan was no exception. I love seeing a groom's face light up when he sees her bride!

The worship service continued throughout the ceremony and was truly moving.

Ashley and Ryan chose to do something that I have never seen during a wedding ceremony. They washed each other's feet. Seeing Ashley kneel down in her delicate wedding dress so that she could serve her husband was the moment when I lost it. I joined the audience in tears and prayer for this sweet couple.

After the ceremony, the wedding party was all smiles! The pastel colors are to die for, are they not?!

I love this photo, because of the story it tells. It is not only a moment in the wedding day (the trolley ride to the reception site). It also said so much about how laid back and fun-spirited Ashley is.

The cake was glorious! Go, Nicki !

Each of the tables were named after significant places in Ashley & Ryan's life...

Moments before the sun set, I took Ashley and Ryan out for a few more photos of just the two of them. We found this amazing tree reaching out toward the marsh and it was Ashley who asked if she could go sit on it barefoot. Ummm...yes!! We almost didn't get to do this because of the whirlwind of events of the wedding day, but I am so so glad we did! They are my favorite images of the entire day and say so much about how much Ashley and Ryan are in love!

The first dances. First with the newlyweds...

...then father/daughter and mother/son. That chandelier hanging over the tent was spectacular.

Guests took the time to write notes to the bride and groom and sealed them with traditional wax seals. I can imagine it was so special for Ashley and Ryan to go through these after the wedding was over!

Ashley and Ryan, it was truly an honor to know you on your wedding day. You are an inspirational couple and I wish you the absolute best in your marriage and life together! Congratulations!

Michelle and Daniel live in Dallas, Texas, but they have family here in North Carolina. Their wedding was held in Winston Salem at Wake Forest University and was just lovely! Every detail was perfection, but what really stood out to me on this wedding was Michelle and Danny's personalities. They are one of the most fun and truly happy couples I've met in a long time! I really did have a wonderful time working with them and their families. I hope that comes out in these images!
The day began at Wait Chapel, where the girls were getting ready. Courtney (my awesome assistant) helped me set the dress up for this shot... |

...and then we took a few more around the grounds of the flowers.

These next two images show Michelle's fun personality perfectly!

Michelle and Danny did not want to see each other before their wedding ceremony, but they did want to take some fun pictures with their wedding party. Love these!

When the front cover for the ceremony program says "It'll be quick. We promise!", you know the couple is fun. These programs were so great. They even included a few images from their engagement shoot in Dallas, Texas.

A few more finishing touches just moments before the ceremony.

A few minutes into the ceremony, the rain started. To anyone else, it may have seemed a downer. But Michelle was prepared with Coach rain boots and a fun umbrella! Nothing was going to stop her from getting pictures of her and Daniel. My clients are seriously the best!

A quick shot of Michelle's sister, niece and mother heading toward the reception.

Favorite shot of the day. The chapel behind, the umbrella, and Michelle's beautiful smile.

The reception was held in the Benson Center at the university and was decorated in grays and blues.

The first dance was emotional and oh, so lovely. They even danced to a song from Regina Spektor, one of my favorite artists!

After dinner and some beautiful toasts, the party really started!

Michelle and Danny ended their wedding day with a classic sparkler exit.

Michelle and Daniel, I can't express in words how much fun it was to work with you! I feel so blessed to have played a small part in your wedding celebration. Thank you for being the best clients ever! I wish you the very best in your life together.

The day was scheduled out beautifully, with lots of time for photos before the ceremony so we were able to get tons of detail shots.
Salt Harbor Designs did an incredible job on Paige's bouquet! Perfection.
|

See what I mean about the perfect views?

There were lots of fun details to take in, from the signs and programs, to the fans, and the flags for the guests to wave and Paige and Derek walked down the aisle as husband and wife!

It's amazing how quickly a wedding day goes. Before you know it, all the preparations are done and it's time to get married!
|

Paige looked absolutely radiant!

Some dear friends took part in the ceremony by doing the readings. I love that Paige and Derek turned around to see them and everyone who had come to witness their big day!

Their bridal party was awesome, and everyone seemed to have a really great time!

Such a gorgeous couple. Such a gorgeous setting.

I love the way the wind grabbed Paige's vail...

Paige also allowed for a great amount of time after the ceremony for photos of just her and Derek. I can't recommend this enough! The photos of you and your husband are the ones you will want on your walls and in your albums!

Just a quiet moment enjoying the fact that they're married and soak it in.

I told you - fun bridal party!

Then it was off to the reception, where there were more beautiful details to see, and lots of partying to be done! I love the idea of using long tables in a big space like the Brooklyn Arts Center. It just adds so much drama to the space when everything is lined up in big long rows.

And then there was the cake... Paige and Derek called upon Bryan and David from Flower and Flour for their cake and the dessert bar. Let me tell you, as amazing as all of the little treats look - they taste even better!

Paige, Derek, and their guests definitely know how to have a good time!

When I was scoping out ring shots, I spied this old piano at the Brooklyn Arts Museum, and I knew that was the one. There's just something about the perfection and sparkle of a diamond against something rusty and old that makes me really happy.

As a special surprise to Derek, Paige had popcorn and Cracker Jack and peanuts brought out toward the end of the night. Derek is a big baseball fan, and especially loves the Red Sox, so he was thrilled!
|

A sparkler send-off was the perfect ending to the perfect day!

Paige and Derek, thanks for letting me be a part of your big day. I loved every minute of it!
