Hi there! Welcome to the Millie Holloman Photography blog. Our company has just one name, but we’re an entire team of crazy, creative, passionate, professional photographers. We’re based all over North Carolina (Wilmington, Raleigh, & Charlotte), but we work all over the world. What do we shoot? In one word: Love. Wedding Love. Baby Love. Family Love. Love of details. Love of design. Love of nature. And this blog? Well, it showcases the images, the people, and the stuff we want to share, both professionally and personally. So what are you waiting for? At Millie Holloman Photography we've got a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. We've got our health, our families, each other. Oh, did we mention? A BRAND SPANKIN' NEW WEBSITE AND BLOG!
That's right, the season is changing and so are we. Be sure to scoot over to our new site and see the new and improved US!

I should probably write and launch this blog post before next year's Haven comes out. (It's been sitting on the back end of my blog for a while waiting for me to take a second to write and release).
Tomorrow (MONDAY) we'll be migrating to a new blog with our brand spanking new and super fun look. You won't even recognize it and lots of things will be changing to make the blog and our website site a better and more enjoyable experience. This has been over a year in the making (it takes time to make things just right). Enough about the rebrand for now, we have a new MHP twitter account you can follow for updates on that and the next time you see a blog post here it will be with the new link and announcement so look for that tommorrow!
Last year Brent, Amanda and I headed off to Bald Head on assignment for an article on paddle boarding in the 2011 Haven. Little did we know we would also get the cover shot on this assignment. Brent and I headed into the ocean with underwater housing for our cameras and shot into the sunset. It was such a fun experience and this year's Haven features our shots on the front and back cover! |
While shooting our Family Vacation Article for the very same issue, Amanda grabbed this awesome shot of our sweet nephew Gavin which became the cover for the 2011 Bald Head Island Armchair Guide. Love!

| This year while traveling to Bald Head for a 2012 Haven assignment I spotted a full rack in the ferry terminal and grabbed some iPhone shots. It's so fun to see your work in print, especially in stacks of magazines! |

THIS IS A PINNED POST SCROLL DOWN TO SEE WHAT'S NEW
It's time for another Shoots & Ladders set and this time in our brand new daylight studio! In celebration of school starting back in just a few short weeks we've decided to theme this set, "back to school". We've been working hard this week filling my car with everything from stacks of used books to a fun set of lockers (+ many more surprises). This session is for school age children, we'll include the littler ones next time (I promise). We'll be doing these a lot more often now that we are in our new space so be sure to join our facebook page for updates here!
Below are the details! This set is only two days of shooting and it's sure to fill VERY quickly so call the studio or email to book!
DETAILS
$100 session fee includes up to 2 children for a 20 minute mini session ($25 per additional child)
location: 15 S 2nd Street. Wilmington, NC (must have an appointment, no walk ins)
dress: back to school clothes of course, when you book we'll have a few more questions to ask so we can tailor the shoot a bit for your child(ren). But think back to when you were a kid, remember how excited you were to wear that "first day of school" outfit and pull out your brand new shoes, lunch box, book bag and school supplies?
We'll present the images (4-6 proofs) to you online within a few weeks of the session.

Your session fee must be paid when booking. Payments are non-refundable. Choose your time carefully, once it's chosen it's blocked just for you. Be punctual. Showing up late gives you less time in our set. Batteries sold separately.

Our friends over at Flower & Flour recently launched their gorgeous new website which is home to a large selection of MHP photos! You'll find many of the images throughout their site to be taken by Millie, Amanda & Brent, Rebecca, Rachel, and even our second shooters.
We are not only a huge fan of their beautiful and tasty cakes, check out their amazingly delicious and perfectly displayed desserts that Amanda captured at a tasting earlier this year! Also, be sure to view their "custom cookies" section of their site for some shots we've never posted. Millie & Jennifer of Salt Harbor Designs styled and shot a custom cookie shoot for them earlier this year!

Our first little newborn session in the new studio was little Maxwell and boy did he give me a good workout! Let's just say it's been a while since I've done newborn portraits in studio so I was reminded of a few tips and tricks I had forgotten.
Little Maxwell was born to a really good friend of mine so we tested out the new studio and some of the newborn props we've been collecting and the two shots below were my favorite. He is so sweet, I could have just sat and held him all day long. I just love newborns!
