Hi! I'm Millie, a photographer based in Wilmington, NC. I travel all over the world photographing weddings, families, kids and grads. I specialize in a more candid approach to my photographs. I most enjoy capturing people in a comfortable environment being themselves.
This blog was created so that you can see my latest work, what I am up to, and a bit of my personal life so that you can get to know me better. Our Shoots & Ladders sets have been a huge success with loads of bookings and we’ve had lots of requests for Charlotte & Raleigh Christmas sessions! Although we can’t bring the sets your way quite yet, we did want you to have the opportunity to participate in our mini sessions this season. This session is for familes and kids of all ages. Attention parents: We are making your life even easier because this time around our session fee includes a full family shot and images of the little ones (we’ve extended the time by 10 minutes to be sure to fit everything in as our Christmas gift to you). The session fee also includes 25 Christmas Cards. Don’t have kids? That’s okay, you can play, too; just read below for details.

Below are the details. Each city has only two days of shooting and it's sure to fill VERY quickly, so email to book right away!
DETAILS
$200 session fee includes a family shot and images of the kids during a 30 minute mini session (up to 3 kids - $25 per additional child) + 25 5x7 Christmas Cards (complete with envelopes)
location: Rachel will be shooting our Charlotte families at The Green | Rebecca will be shooting our Raleigh families on Fayetteville Street! (exact address' for both locations will be given upon booking)
dress: bundle! hats, winter coats, mitten, scarves. Think layers and lots of fun!
We'll present the images (10 proofs) to you online within two weeks of the session!
Email the studio to reserve a spot and recieve your session time!
Saturday, November 19th (time will be determined when booking)

Your session must be paid when booking. Payments are non-refundable. Choose your time carefully, once it’s chosen it’s reserved just for you. Be punctual. It's funny how life works. How quickly things change. In the last year we've moved into a new building, we are undergoing a huge branding overhaul (scheduled to launch in mid to late November) and we recently added to our team! Meet the Strebeck family. They are now the newest addition to our MHP family. Claire has been on staff with us now for several weeks and we've been waiting until just the right moment to introduce her to all of you! Call it what you want, but we believe it is divine providence that the Strebeck family is now a part of our lives.
Over a year ago I began looking to hire a family portrait photographer for MHP. After reviewing many applicants and sorting through numerous voicemails, I didn't feel I had just the right person for the job so I decided to wait.
A few months ago an email appeared in my inbox with Claire re-introducing herself. I previously met her when she attended Love Affair Workshop (where I was teaching) over two years ago. This wasn't the first time I had gotten an email from someone asking if we had any openings (I get them often). However, something about this one left me with the feeling I should dig a little deeper. She informed me that her husband was interviewing for a job in the area and they would hopefully be moving here soon from Mississippi. Fast forward several months later and here we are. Claire, Wesley and their two adorable boys are now a part of our lives on our daily basis and we think they are the perfect fit.
Claire is our brand new family portrait photographer and office assistant at MHP. She's currently helping second shoot weddings and learning the ropes both on portrait sessions and in the studio. Pretty soon she'll begin booking sessions of her own so keep an eye out for that over the next several months. Until then we are happy to open a new chapter in our MHP life and introduce you to Claire and her sweet little family... |

I've known Lindsey and Gray for quite some time now. I've been working with Lindsey in the wedding industry for several years and they are also my neighbors, so we get to chat on the front porch and enjoy one another's company quite often. Earlier this year when these two announced they were expecting little Ms. Tilley Gray I could not have been more excited for them. Two things I know about little Miss before she even officially arrives in November: 1. she is joining one stylish family with an adorable nursery. 2. she is already loved beyond measure. She's the first little girl in several generations and the first grandchild on both sides so she's sure to get some spoiling and I'll help with that of course!
We started out in their sweet little home (which is going to be featured in HGTV magazine soon, it's that cute)! Tilley Gray's nursery wasn't quite complete but it was far enough along for you to get an idea of it's adorableness including all of the fabulous paper mache animals from Anthropologie! |
| The shadows in the room? That's a light they purchased from Ikea and it's fabulous, they spray painted it gold and I'm in love with the mood and texture it adds to this sweet nursery. |

It's time for another Shoots & Ladders set and this time in our brand new daylight studio! In celebration of school starting back in just a few short weeks we've decided to theme this set, "back to school". We've been working hard this week filling my car with everything from stacks of used books to a fun set of lockers (+ many more surprises). This session is for school age children, we'll include the littler ones next time (I promise). We'll be doing these a lot more often now that we are in our new space so be sure to join our facebook page for updates here!

$100 session fee includes up to 2 children for a 20 minute mini session ($25 per additional child)
location: 15 S 2nd Street. Wilmington, NC (must have an appointment, no walk ins)
dress: back to school clothes of course, when you book we'll have a few more questions to ask so we can tailor the shoot a bit for your child(ren). But think back to when you were a kid, remember how excited you were to wear that "first day of school" outfit and pull out your brand new shoes, lunch box, book bag and school supplies?
We'll present the images (4-6 proofs) to you online within a few weeks of the session.
