Hi there! Welcome to the Millie Holloman Photography blog. Our company has just one name, but we’re an entire team of crazy, creative, passionate, professional photographers. We’re based all over North Carolina (Wilmington, Raleigh, & Charlotte), but we work all over the world. What do we shoot? In one word: Love. Wedding Love. Baby Love. Family Love. Love of details. Love of design. Love of nature. And this blog? Well, it showcases the images, the people, and the stuff we want to share, both professionally and personally. So what are you waiting for? Come on in and look around.
We want you to get the most out of your time here, so here are a few helpful tips: Check out the text block above that says: “photographers”. Use it to get to know just one photographer better by sorting just their images, twitter updates or bio. Wondering who shot what? Look for the signature on the bottom left of each photograph. Looking for something specific? Type the topic or a keyword into the search bar above for related results.
Wanna send us some love? There is no better way than leaving comments! We can't wait to hear from you so scroll down and see what's new…

I just did the happy dance in my studio. I logged on to the blog for a second and decided to check my stats. For those of you who are avid blog readers... here is a little impromptu post so that you can celebrate with me! We just reached over 100,000 unique hits on the blog in just a few short months! I can now mark goal #67 off my list and shoot for 1,000,000.
Thank you to those of you who continually visit the blog and leave incredible comments that make my day. We also recently hit over 1,000 comments and I still can't believe how kind you people are to keep leaving such kind words for all to see... You make me want to sing, but that would be a bad thing! You keep coming back; I love all of you!

Let me introduce you to Jerry, Tim, and Ricky. Together, they are "Lights Out in Hollywood", a new band based in Columbus, Ohio. I heard their EP and let me be the first to tell you . . . it's AMAZING. If they don't become famous, I'll be shocked, honestly. They have plans to record a full length album this summer and will then be taking a national tour with other Christian artists. I'll try to keep you updated on their progress (they have a blog coming very soon). I may be a bit biased, because the drummer, Ricky, is my baby brother. I promise you, though, they have talent oozing out of their pores. I was so honored when they asked me to do a quick photo shoot last week to prepare for their album cover and fliers.
A BIG thanks to the Palace Theatre in Canton for letting us do some of the shoot there. That place is like a DREAM for photographers. Directional lighting everywhere and lots of old rustic beauty. There was a lighting technician on duty that asked, "Dude, why would you want to take pictures back stage?!". Well, here's why... |

| This crazy organ is famous in Canton. This really funny old guy sits on it and plays before every movie showing. When the movie is about to start, the organ magically begins to sink into the abyss out of site. The organ player waves and everyone claps. This may be the most exciting thing in Canton right now, which is one really good reason for me to come and join all of you in North Carolina. |

| Halfway through the photo shoot, the band decided to take a quick break to . . . chase some geese. We really have nothing better to do here, I promise. After a bit of scaring harmless animals, they returned to finish the job. |

On to a laundromat where we got in trouble. oops. The manager was not too happy when we came in and started shooting instead of asking her. Honest to goodness - I didn't know she was working there! I really thought she was just another customer, because she was folding laundry. Oh, well. I worked my charm a bit and we put some quarters in the machines to give them some business. Getting yelled at was totally worth it for the shots!
Great job guys! I wish you all the best of luck!!!!

We need brides and grooms to model for The Love Affair Workshop in just a few weeks.
Who are we looking for? Young couples (under 35) who are either married, engaged, or dating and would love to put on wedding attire.
What if I don't have wedding attire? No problem. Although we would love to hear from couples who already have a suit or tux and dress, it's okay if you don't. We have plenty of dresses that we can have you try on and we are also looking to get some tuxes and suits. Don't let not having just the right thing to wear keep you from calling.
What are the dates? We are looking for models on the below dates to model from 1pm-5m.
Monday, Feb 18th.
Wednesday, Feb 20th.
Tuesday, Feb 26th.
Thursday, Feb 28th.
Please know that this workshop is on Bald Head Island and you will need to allow time to travel from the mainlaind to the ferry terminal and then onto the island. We suggest you leave Wilmington at 10am to catch the 11am ferry and arrive on the island around 11:20. We will arrange transportation for you to a home where you can get dressed. You will need to come as ready as you can and then simply change into your dress or suit when you arrive.
Why should I do this? Because you love me! Just kidding. Because you will get the opportunity to be photographed by some amazing people and in exchange for your time and effort we will be sure that you get some wonderful photographs.
Will it cost me anything? No. We will pay ferry expenses as well as parking expenses. You will just need to get yourself to the ferry landing in Southport. Be sure to eat lunch before you come!
How do I sign up? Just call the studio at 910-256-5241 and speak with Abbie. She will tell you what dates and times that are still available and we can get you registered.
Above and below are a couple of shots which I grabbed of Lindsey during a recent modeling shoot she did for me. |
