Hi there! Welcome to the Millie Holloman Photography blog. Our company has just one name, but we’re an entire team of crazy, creative, passionate, professional photographers. We’re based all over North Carolina (Wilmington, Raleigh, & Charlotte), but we work all over the world. What do we shoot? In one word: Love. Wedding Love. Baby Love. Family Love. Love of details. Love of design. Love of nature. And this blog? Well, it showcases the images, the people, and the stuff we want to share, both professionally and personally. So what are you waiting for? Come on in and look around.

We want you to get the most out of your time here, so here are a few helpful tips: Check out the text block above that says: “photographers”. Use it to get to know just one photographer better by sorting just their images, twitter updates or bio. Wondering who shot what? Look for the signature on the bottom left of each photograph. Looking for something specific? Type the topic or a keyword into the search bar above for related results.

I was browsing online today and ran across this stop motion video that is just AMAZING! If you read my previous post on Stop Motion or understand how it works, you'll have a GREAT appreciation for this 3 minute film and if not, you'll still appreciate this little love story to remind you of what matters most in life. Enjoy!

thanksgiving...

11.28.08 ~ Life ~ posted by Millie, Brent & Amanda

This year for Thanksgiving we were lucky enough to have our entire family together and Amanda's family joined us as well. We had a great time with loads of food, fun and naps. Here is a little peak of Thanksgiving Day at the Holloman's!

The girls took over the kitchen all morning. Amanda cut the Turkey, Mom tended to the oven, Dana baked pies, Lisa washed dishes, and I took photos. Of course I helped cook too by doing whatever I was asked!

The feast!

Amanda loves to shoot details so she took the camera to capture our table setting which Mom created!

Gavin is always a source of joy for our entire family... Dad lit right up when this little guy walked in, he warms our heart!

We saved a turkey leg for Gavin because he LOVES to gnaw on it... he thought it was just so funny and he sat down first so we all stood around to watch him eat his turkey leg.

Pecan pie is a sweet southern tradition. I don't much care for pecan's but it is Dad's favorite dessert and a Thanksgiving staple...

After our belly's were full. We all laid around, looked through newspaper ads (to get ready for our Black Friday shopping spree), played with Gavin, took naps and just enjoyed being together with nothing to do but enjoy one another's company!

11.27.08 ~ Seniors ~ posted by Millie

WOW! It has been a while since I blogged and I have a whole pile of weddings, sessions, workshop images and more to get on here but since I am feeling a little overwhelmed with it all I thought I would start fresh with a couple of favorite images from yesterday's senior portrait session with Catherine.

I'll try to blog the rest over the next several days. My goal is to have everything online by the end of next week and be completely caught up with blogging before I leave for Louisiana the following week so get ready for A LOT of blog posts! I've called in help next week, Rebecca & Rachel will be in town to help with sessions and edits. If your images are not online yet, no worries! We are working hard to get them up in time for you to order for the holidays so stay tuned!

love affair workshop... good times!

11.25.08 ~ Updates, Workshops ~ posted by Millie

Well, I'm BACK!!! We had a fabulous time in San Diego at Love Affair Workshop. I have been going through all of the fun photos we took while away as well as trying to edit weddings and get them online so bare with me if I don't blog much for a few days. I am also helping Amanda & Brent move into their new place and getting ready for family to arrive for Thanksgiving so things are kind of chaotic right now.

Since I have not had any time to edit and post photos myself, I thought I would share this collage with you that Kelly made. It is a great recollection of the amazing time we had... I'll post more later!

11.25.08 ~ Kids & Family, Documentary ~ posted by Rebecca

A couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to take some photos of my friend Jessie. She wanted some images to give to her family of her enjoying life. There was special meaning to her in these gifts, because Jessie has muscular dystrophy. She relies on family and friends for a lot of things, and wanted to give them something to let them know how much she appreciates and loves them.

So we headed out to the park one Sunday with several friends. It was an absolutely gorgeous day! And took advantage of everything that the park had to offer! Isn't Jessie beautiful?

We couldn't think of anything better than to pretend we were all kids again for a day, so we started out at the carousel. I love this shot with all the motion in the background!

This just looks so peaceful to me. Sitting by the lake, watching the water and the ducks swim around.

Jessie brought along three of her best friends in the world - Emily, Elizabeth, and Jen to be a part of her shoot. These girls are some of my favorite people in the world, and we had a blast! Jessie was such a trooper too - she would do anything I thought of, including sitting in the leaves under this tree. But I think it paid off, don't you??

All four beautiful girls!

Elizabeth and Emily were real excited about their tickets to ride the train!!

On the train to ride around the park. This is what friendship is all about.

Muscular dystrophy affects over 1500 families in NC alone. There are many different forms of MD, and doctors and scientists are looking for a cure. If you want to help, you can click over to MDA.org. They have a lot of different programs that help people with muscular dystrophy. As a kid, one of Jessie's favorite things was to go to the MDA Summer Camps. Here is what she says about the camps:

"Those were some of the best times of my life. Camp was a chance for me to be "a normal kid". To play games, make friends, ride in a Harley sidecar, and so much more!! With your donation more kids can enjoy the same experiences I had. And the smiles that come from a week of fun, laughter, and being "a normal kid" is priceless!!"

If you are looking for the perfect gift for someone who has it all this holiday season, consider giving a donation in their name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. It could make a real difference in someone's life!
