The Farrior family is always a good time and I should know, I've spent quite a bit of time with them over the last year. I first met them when little Windsor was born and I already had chatted with them over the phone on several occasions. I later photographed Harley & Duane's beautiful wedding out in the country (Windsor's Aunt) which of course means there was a bridal portrait and an engagement session. We've kept in touch and when it was time for Windsor's first birthday, her Mom called me up to schedule a session. We made this an opportunity to capture little Windsor and her big party.
This is the best 1 year old birthday party I have ever seen. Complete with an amazing cake by Flower & Flour, a PINK candy bar, cupcake candles for every kid, the coolest birthday hat ever and a gazillion gifts for the little one. What a great time! Amanda also came along to help out and I'm glad she did, there was so much going on, it would have been a challenge to cover it as well with just me. |

Daddy helps Windsor blow her candle out...

All of the kids sat at the table with their own little birthday plate and waited patiently for cake and ice cream!

Windsor's first time ever having a cupcake...

Gifts, I think it's safe to say that this little one loves books and baby dolls!

What a great time but we didn't expect anything less from the Farriors!

We often photograph for Our State Magazine and we always love working with the girls over there! Just a few months ago Rachel was assigned to a story on "The Swimmin' Hole" AKA "The Bullhole". Just today we received our first peek at the story and thought we would share it with all of you!

Hello everyone, Brent here. At the end of every year I see people post their top ten albums of the year and I love it. I have discovered some great music this way. I usually open my iTunes and start searching the bands and listening to a few clips to see if I like the music. If I see a few bands that I already listen to on the list then I know I might like some of the rest.
This year I decided to make my own top 10 list. It took me a while but I went through all of the albums that I got this year and started pulling my favorite ones. Well I ended up with a lot more then 10 so I had to narrow them down. It was tough but I now have a top 11 and an honorable mentions list.
Let me know what you think and if any of these are your favorite too!

Kristin just turned the big 3-0! When Mike asked her what she wanted for her birthday present, she said "I want pictures from Rachel". Yay!!!!!!!
I've known Mike and Kristin for a while now. They've been happily married for I think 7 years now and are good friends of me and Andrew from North Canton, Ohio. It worked out perfectly for us to do the shoot while I was in town for the holidays! The only thing... it was cold and snowing. Which is great for pictures, but not so much for my fingers and toes. :) Brrrr.
One of my favorite things about Mike and Kristin is how they interact with each other. Kristin is a sweetie pie and Mike can make her laugh just by changing his expression. |

Mike's mom made Kristin's hat and scarf. It was so thoughtful of Kristin to use it in the photo shoot and it also added a much needed splash of color in the midst of all this white!

We did our session in downtown Canton, all within about two blocks. I never realized how much character there is in this area! Who has railroad tracks curving around and through two buildings?! Seriously, it's so cool!

I love working with people like Kristin! She dabbles in photography, so these pictures were pretty important to her. Because of that, she was willing to go the extra mile for a great shot. About halfway through the shoot, she asked if they could take off their winter coats for a few shots. I was a little stunned, because it was in the low 20's outside and windy. Brrrr!!!

The no-coat thing didn't last too long. :)

Kristin loves symmetry in photos, so I tried to play on that a little.

This is another shot that really speaks of Mike and Kristin's relationship. Love.

We took a quick detour to the recycling center in Canton. Kristin is definitely earth conscious, so it was the perfect location! In weather like this, people will do anything to keep warm...including jumping up and down over and over again. Mike wanted to do a "cheerleader" shot, which explains the one on the right.

At the end of the shoot, we took a few shots in front of the most colorful building in Canton. Mike and Kristin are big hockey fans, so a quick costume change into their fan gear was only appropriate!

This was another request from Kristin. She said one of her favorite shots of mine was from Whitney and Blake's wedding where they're standing out on opposite sides of a pier. My interpretation of that shot in a completely different setting.

Hockey is a full contact sport, so how could we do hockey fan photos without a good "check"?

Mike and Kristin, it was so great to see you again! I had a wonderful time with the two of you and am so glad that you guys were my first shoot in the snow. Lots of luck with your first house closing!
