We’re based all over North Carolina (Wilmington, Raleigh, & Charlotte), but we work all over the world. What do we shoot? In one word: Love. Wedding Love. Baby Love. Family Love. Love of details. day 3. week 2.

Yesterday was a super day here at Love Affair Workshop. We had some incredible models, some which I was able to spend some time with and others who I did not get the opportunity to shoot but they were all equally amazing and such great friends and clients to come spend the day being paparazzied by 40+ photographers.

Here is Cassie... many of you will remember me photographing Stephen and Cassie's wedding last year right here at Bald Head.


Kim & Philip who I only managed to rattle off one shot of but I will be seeing lots more of this super fun couple because Rachel is shooting their wedding this coming May.


Justin & Mary drove in all the way from Connecticut to model for us. These two are such great friends an I am so privileged to have met them. They are so kind hearted and sincere... the type of people that the world needs more of!


So many of these shots were perfect that I could not decided what to post. This is just what happens when you combine beautiful people with great light and perfect passion!

This past Sunday we were resting from week 1 and gearing up for week 2. We took this free day and headed around the island to shoot for Bald Head. Here are some of my favorite shots from the day and other shots of us just messing around!

The lovely Erica returned to the island to model for us, she is so much fun to shoot. Everything she does is just right... such a pro model and makeup artist. A huge thanks to Erica for helping out with many of our models and making them look like a million bucks!

The bird cage veils and many of the cool feathers and hair pieces were provided by Joanne Miranda Designs... her stuff is always gorgeous and although she does not have a website that I know of, you can email her here.


Here is a shot I grabbed of Davina shooting with Canon. She borrowed Kelly's camera and shot Canon for the day... amazing! I think we may have convinced her to convert but don't tell.


Lauren ended up modeling for the day as well in a fabulous Nicole Miller dress loaned to us by A Carolina Wedding...





Kelly actually grabbed this shot but I thought it was hilarious that Lauren was shooting all decked out in wedding attire...

day 1. week 2.

Today was the start of week 2 for Love Affair Workshop. We have another incredible group of 40 women this week and we started out the day at Shoals Club on Bald Head Island after spending the morning talking about time, life and how to balance it all.

We were not sure the weather was going to work in our favor because right before we headed out to shoot, it was like a tsunami outside... just nuts! However, the rain let up and the nice diffused light made for some killer photographs... I had Lindsey modeling in my group so below are some fun shots I grabbed of her and some of the photographers doing their thing!








I snuck over to Davina's group for a second to get a shot of the lovely Alisha Schwanke and her hubby, David, who drove in 4 hours just to model for us! Thanks to both of you... it was a joy to meet you!



I love the negative space and symmetry of the below image...



I took this shot because I wanted to show you the set up of the shot below and how you can use totally crazy places to take a super cool photo! Not a photo I would take for a portrait session but just for kicks to see how the image below this one came to be...

day 3. week 1.

Day 3 was full of fabulous models! So many of my friends and clients have pitched in to help out throughout these two weeks and I am so thankful for their willingness to doll up in wedding or engagement attire and tour the island with over 40 photographers firing away.

What a fun experience this entire week has been! I can't believe we are starting week 2 tomorrow. Just 6 months ago, I thought February would never come and now here we are, almost done with this Love Affair Workshop marathon. I have had the fabulous privilege of meeting so many wonderful women and I can't wait to meet more amazing women in week 2.




Looking around to see where everyone would position themselves for a photo was fun... some laid on the ground... some stood, while other piled onto the dock down below, which was overloaded with women! Check out Lauren's blog for a shot of everyone piled on the dock.
