Hi there! Welcome to the Millie Holloman Photography blog. Our company has just one name, but we’re an entire team of crazy, creative, passionate, professional photographers. We’re based all over North Carolina (Wilmington, Raleigh, & Charlotte), but we work all over the world. What do we shoot? In one word: Love. Wedding Love. Baby Love. Family Love. Love of details. Love of design. Love of nature. And this blog? Well, it showcases the images, the people, and the stuff we want to share, both professionally and personally. So what are you waiting for? Come on in and look around.
We want you to get the most out of your time here, so here are a few helpful tips: Check out the text block above that says: “photographers”. Use it to get to know just one photographer better by sorting just their images, twitter updates or bio. Wondering who shot what? Look for the signature on the bottom left of each photograph. Looking for something specific? Type the topic or a keyword into the search bar above for related results.
Wanna send us some love? There is no better way than leaving comments! We can't wait to hear from you so scroll down and see what's new…

Melissa and Anthony are having a baby! A few weeks ago, this super fun couple drove all the way to Charlotte from their home in Athens, Georgia for their maternity session. We had lots of fun - this couple loves to laugh which made my job so easy! Melissa is a photographer herself based in Athens, Georgia. It is always an honor when other photographers hire you for their photos,,, it also really puts the pressure on to rock it out!

I love this one. I can almost feel the baby kick just by looking at this pic!

Can you guess the colors of their baby's room? You got it... green and blue.

Melissa workin' that door!

Everyone wants the heart on the tummy pic. Everyone except for photographers who see that image done a lot. So...this is their version. :) Love it!

On the way back from our excursion, I spotted this little bench area. It was cold that day, but when I asked if we could do a few more here, Melissa and Anthony were all for it. I'm so glad, because this is one of my FAVs of the day! I love how moody it looks.

The way Anthony looks at Melissa is priceless.

Thanks Melissa and Anthony for coming all that way to hang out with me for a day! I had a great time getting to know you and I wish you all the best with your new addition.

This year we participated in three bridals shows... Raleigh, Wilmington, and Charlotte.
I am not going to lie, Bridal Shows are not my favorite thing to do on a Saturday. It takes a LOT of work to create an amazing booth, pack it up, unpack it, set it up, stand and talk all day, tear it down, pack it up, come home and put it all away... A LOT OF WORK! I do however love all of the amazing people I get to chat with the day of the show and hearing about all of the sweet weddings that will be taking place which we have the chance to photograph!
This year we decided prior to the shows that we were going to go all out in creating a booth that would reflect our style, our personality and attract brides we want to work with. We really strive to make our investment of time worthwhile! We did just that and thanks to an amazing team we learned a LOT about bridal shows, marketing, booth design, and more. We have already begun chatting about how to take our next booth to another level next year and we plan to do just that, step it up.
The below images were taken at the bridal show in Nov. 2008, if you include that show, we did 4 shows total recently! Here is a peak at our vintage inspired, fun and colorful booth... I hope you enjoy! |

I love my husband. Sometimes I marvel at how I lucked out with him. I'm not so big on getting flowers as presents, because they die so quickly. I'm not into jewelry either. You could pretty much say that I'm super picky. This leaves Andrew with quite a dilemma during sentimental holidays. He didn't disappoint, though. Check out one of his presents to me for Valentine's Day! It was beautiful and YUMMY! Did I mention I love my husband?

Andre and April are so special to me! Andrew and I have become fast friends with this couple. They are an amazing pair and have done so much for the community. One of my life goals on the MHP blog states that I want to shoot more of what I want and less of what I have to. Please don't get me wrong. I LOVE shooting weddings and pretty much every other aspect of my job, but it makes me sad to see the people closest to me not get blessed with photography when it's right at my finger tips. This photo shoot is my first step towards changing that.
April had a burst of energy at around 38 weeks, so we decided spontaneously to do a photo shoot on February 13th with the three of them! Nothing fancy, just a few shots around their neighborhood and in the nursery. I think they turned out great! One thing April said to me is that she was having a harder and harder time seeing her toes. This first image was my way of saying that in a picture.
|

Andre is seriously super-dad. From the beginning, he talked to baby Jaxon, prayed for him, played him music and even has a cartoon voice that he uses on him. So cute!

Remember when I said April had a burst of energy on February 13th and that's when we shot this session? Well, we all didn't realize at the time, but that was her "nesting". She had the baby the very next day on Valentine's Day. I thought this image was incredibly appropriate.

Can you believe we have beautiful flowers like these budding in February? I love the south.

This girl does not look like she's going to have a baby the next day, does she?! Wow.

This is the perfect portrayal of Andre's personality. Wild, wacky and full of energy! Love it!

April, you are so gorgeous!!!!

After the sun began to set, we took just a few images in the nursery. I love the colors they picked for their walls! Chocolate and lime! Yummy.

April said she didn't crave certain foods all that much during her pregnancy, but she was lovin' Reese's peanut butter cups. Paired along with the cutest shoes EVER, we have a meaningful and very cute shot.

Andre is the worship leader at Freedom House Church in Charlotte and April is a singer/songwriter, so obviously music is really important to them as a couple. When they found out they were pregnant, Andre put headphones up to April's tummy and let little Jaxon listen to music. The first song Jaxon heard was the one in the picture, written and recorded by Andre himself. I just love it when we can capture memories like this!

Andre and April, I am so so so happy for you guys! I love you and can't wait to show you the rest of these!
