Hi there! Welcome to the Millie Holloman Photography blog. Our company has just one name, but we’re an entire team of crazy, creative, passionate, professional photographers. We’re based all over North Carolina (Wilmington, Raleigh, & Charlotte), but we work all over the world. What do we shoot? In one word: Love. Wedding Love. Baby Love. Family Love. Love of details. Love of design. Love of nature. And this blog? Well, it showcases the images, the people, and the stuff we want to share, both professionally and personally. So what are you waiting for? Come on in and look around.
We want you to get the most out of your time here, so here are a few helpful tips: Check out the text block above that says: “photographers”. Use it to get to know just one photographer better by sorting just their images, twitter updates or bio. Wondering who shot what? Look for the signature on the bottom left of each photograph. A couple of weekends ago, Brent and I did an e-Session with Grace and Gary, who are getting married the beginning of June. We decided to take them down to the waterfront in downtown Wilmington. Everywhere you turned there were people enjoying the beautiful, sunny afternoon including us!
We learned several things about Grace & Gary... like, they met through friends while they were in college and they LOVE sushi, just like we do. We never pass up an opportunity for good sushi, so we headed to Nikki's (our favorite sushi spot) for a quick bite. We even incorporated our little visit to Nikki's into the session! Towards the end, we headed down to the beach, which is one of their favorite places to be, and grabbed some shots there as the sun was setting.
Grace and Gary are so sweet and loving towards each other and it was really fun to be able to capture that emotion between the two of them. Gary is very caring with Grace and he loves to make her laugh, and Grace looks so safe in his arms when he holds her. They love to laugh and joke around with each other, but are also content with one another when it's quiet, this says a lot about them being the perfect fit. A big thanks to Grace and Gary for a wonderful session and we look forward to the wedding in June!

Hanging out by an old pirate ship that sailed into downtown. The ship offers free tours to those that are interested in stepping back into history of the pirate's life. ARRRRGGGG!

While we were walking downtown, Gary pointed out that the dogwood trees were starting to bloom. We grabbed some shots of them sneaking a kiss there!

The "Crunchy Roll" is one of Grace and Gary's favorites to enjoy when they get sushi. It happens to be one of mine and Brent's favorites too, but this time we decided to try a "Rainbow Roll" which was also tasty!

Fun tilt shift-lens shot... I love it!

Brent grabbed this amazing shot of them walking along the sandy path. Absolutely beautiful!

This weekend I have a friend and fellow photographer visiting me from Ohio, Julie! This is my last weekend to have a FULL day off before we start into wedding season over here at MHP. We have lots of fun things planned to spend my final weekend off right, one of which was hunting for seashells at the beach so we headed out this morning right before the rain rolled into town. Our little journey was cut short when some large rain drops began to fall (so we pulled our camera close and headed for cover) but we had a great time, picking sea shells, chatting, and taking photos.
Julie and I have been friends for about 5 years now and we both met on an online photography forum (crazy how the internet changes our lives so, I have many amazing photographer friends I only know from online and have never even met and many I have only met once). Julie and I get to see one another at photo conferences but that's about it, so it has been fun to catch up and for her to get a little mini vacation. I am sure she never stops with four kids at home so it is a great get away. Here are a few shots from our morning! |

Betsy & Cory are loads of fun and full of laughter! I loved meeting with them and asking lots of fun questions about their first date. I found out their introduction was all set up by Betsy's boss who also knew Cory. Cool story because you don't often hear from people who went on a blind date that ended in marriage, but I love it! You can definitely tell these two are just right for each other, they love to kiss, cuddle, laugh and just be together. We started the session out at Cold Stone Creamery which is one of their favorite places to go together!

Once they were done with ice cream we took off for the beach to catch some SUPER light on this overcast day...

I could totally tell these two complete one another and make each other really happy...

I love this series... I would print them all as little canvases and put them all on my wall together like this!!!

The rain held off until the very last shots but we braved it to complete the session and rattle off a few more...

and a lot of together time...

I can not wait for their wedding next month, I already know I am working with a FABULOUS team of people to pull it all off!

When Gavin is over I really enjoy playing with him in the den. He pulls out all of his toys and scatters them all over the den like a kid should. The other day he was having way too much fun beating on his little drum and playing with his favorite farm house so I grabbed the camera... love this little guy!

A few weeks ago, I drove down to Atlanta and met Tracey and Tony for their engagement session. When they opened their front door to welcome me, three adorable pups shot out the door and gave me a truly southern hospitality style welcome. Their furry friends are really important to them both, so I felt it only right to incorporate them into at least a few of their images.
This first one cracks me up. Do you see the middle dog's tongue sticking out?! Hilarious! |

Tracey and Tony "dog-pile" on their hammock in their backyard often. I love it when we can make photo shoots personal!

Our first stop was a place called Cabbagetown in Atlanta. I had never been there before and didn't know a thing about it, but heard it was a great place to shoot. I was not disappointed! When we arrived at this graffiti-covered tunnel, I got so excited to work with the ambient lighting!

This next series is so cute...

These next three might be my favorite from the whole set. Tony has such a great serious look, doesn't he?

...and Tracey is just plain beautiful.

We did a little experimenting on this shoot. I love playing with flare! My favorite part of this next image is not the flare, though. It's the fact that Tracey is on her tip-toes. So cute.

Throughout the entire shoot, people were walking by, hooting and hollering, whistling, and staring. Tracey and Tony handled it like true pros, though, and they brought it!

At the very end of our day together, we took a few images at a local park. The light was scrumptious by this time, so I stayed way back and just watched them interact for a while. Tracey and Tony, you are just so stinkin' cute together! I can't wait to come back to Atlanta for your wedding in May!
