Hi there! Welcome to the Millie Holloman Photography blog. Our company has just one name, but we’re an entire team of crazy, creative, passionate, professional photographers. We’re based all over North Carolina (Wilmington, Raleigh, & Charlotte), but we work all over the world. What do we shoot? In one word: Love. Wedding Love. Baby Love. Family Love. Love of details. Love of design. Love of nature. And this blog? Well, it showcases the images, the people, and the stuff we want to share, both professionally and personally. So what are you waiting for? Come on in and look around.
We want you to get the most out of your time here, so here are a few helpful tips: Check out the text block above that says: “photographers”. Use it to get to know just one photographer better by sorting just their images, twitter updates or bio. Wondering who shot what? Look for the signature on the bottom left of each photograph. Looking for something specific? Type the topic or a keyword into the search bar above for related results.
Wanna send us some love? There is no better way than leaving comments! We can't wait to hear from you so scroll down and see what's new…

Abbie is back and that means we have a fun little one here at MHP too! We are still adjusting to things around here... we have added all sorts of new toys to the studio including a pack & play, a swing and I am sure toys will scatter the floor before long. However, I have to say it is fun having Elizabeth here. We get snuggle breaks and her little coo's make us laugh. Abbie is on limited office hours this week, we will see what next week holds for getting back to a normal work schedule so expect emails and phone calls to still be a bit sporadic.
Today was Kayleigh's first time seeing Elizabeth and she could not get enough of her! Of course, we didn't complain one bit, she was a HUGE help in allowing me and Abbie to get some work done. She and Elizabeth fell asleep on the couch together. |

| We call Elizabeth "squishy" and this is why... she is squish-ably cute! |

| This is what Elizabeth does about 90% of the time in the studio, but today she branched out and enjoyed the swing for a bit as well! |

| Of course, things look a little different here now, we are still trying to figure out the best place to put everything. We will get our mess together before long. For now, I am just glad to have the girls back. |

Hudson is a doll! He isn't just cute either, he is really smart. At just 9 months old his Mom, Jamie, has taught him to use sign language to communicate until he can talk. I love it when parents put this kind of effort and energy into their kids to teach them such valuable skills at a young age. Hudson is a little rounder and he was all over the place, their attention span is so short at just nine months.
|

| One of my favorite things Hudson did was play with his little truck... I love his little hand pushing it across the floor. |

| Rachel shot with me, this was her first ever baby session and she did a great job. See what she shot on her section of the blog. |

| Love those little toes... |

| Hudson & Dad love to play tickle games... |

| and swinging upside down is always fun! |

| Hudson and Mom love to stand out on the front porch and wave at the birds as they pass by. Having a home on the beach makes this easy to do because the seagulls and pelicans are always flying by and the view is beautiful! |

| Someone in Hudson's family bought him this adorable little outfit to wear on the beach for pictures when he turned one. We were afraid he might outgrow it before then, so we opted to grab some shots of him in it now. He was more interested in the sand than having his photo taken but that is what is so cute about kids... they are so easily distracted by the simplest things that we take for granted! |

I recently had the great opportunity to do my first ever baby session with Millie! I was so excited. Hudson is nine months old, full of wonderful expression and sweet character. I was expecting to see a beautiful baby (which he definitely was), but I was not expecting to see how quickly this boy could move. He was a fast little guy! We
managed to slow him down just long enough to get some great images. |

Hudson's mom, Janet, picked out the most adorable outfits for Hudson. Don’t you just love the little hats?
Some of my favorite moments of the day were seeing the interaction between him and his parents. Mommy was all kisses and Daddy was all play and fun. This little boy is really fortunate to be surrounded by so much love. |

| A few more highlights of the day include fun with their dogs, great natural light throughout their cozy beach home, and Hudson’s sourpuss face after trying to suck on seashells at the beach. |

Just this past week I was having a rough time... Abbie was gone, the work was really piling up, I was struggling with a really bad headache (4 days straight). For me to complain about a headache, it has to be bad, because I have a VERY high tolerance for pain. I shot a wedding and an e-session right through it and totally love the results... good thing when you are shooting, the adrenaline kicks in and you don't even think about the pain! My entire week was made better when I received a mysterious box in the mail.
I love the simple things in life like hand written notes and small tokens of appreciation. These are the things that make me smile and realize how genuine a person really is! I was super excited this week when I received a surprise gift from Melanie & Carmen. Both fellow photographers who are super people! They sent me hand written letters with custom made stationary as a Thank you for our Love Affair Workshop. I was elated! This sweet gesture of appreciation totally made me feel better. Thanks girls, It was as if you knew how much a hand written note means to me and how much I love to write them! I will put these adorable notecards to good use and I love that you had them made with my colors! |

| Millie and I headed over to Wrightsville Beach for Molly and HR’s engagement session. I’ve always wanted to do a photo shoot underneath a pier, but have never gotten the chance to until now. It was just beautiful underneath the Oceanic with the waves crashing in. Molly and HR were such great sports from the get-go. They got pretty wet when the tide came in unexpectedly. They look like they’re having fun, but that water was wicked cold! |

| After a few shots there, we headed to a private little beach area with a killer view. Again, they were being great sports. They dealt with crab holes and sand spurs everywhere (in their bare feet no less!). I was nervous even with my sandals on, but Molly and HR are total pros and it didn’t faze them one bit. They totally just rocked it out. |

| Hmmm . . . speaking of rocks. I love, love, love, Molly’s ring. Millie let me borrow her macro lens for a quick shot in the fencing. Yummy! |

| Congratulations on your engagement, Molly & HR! |
