Howdy y'all! I'll be in the big state of Texas, more specifically, Houston, on May 13th (for a wedding on May 14th) and I've had quite a bit of interest from people in that area wanting me to do a one-2-one or group workshop. Since I only have one day I thought I would arrange a small informal group workshop and allow a maximum of 10 photographers to attend. This low number will ensure I keep it jam packed and allow everyone a chance to ask questions while keeping it more in line with the experience of a one-2-one - Q&A!
My goal is to cover the below topics and allow everyone to submit questions and bring questions with them to the workshop for me to answer. I'm an open book and at this price, BEST PRICE EVER, t's sure to go quick. I'll tell you whatever you want to know!
The location is TBA and I'll give out the details once everyone is signed up!
PRICE: $650
DATE: Friday, May 13th
TIME: 8am-2pm (I'll have lunch catered while we are talking)
LOCATION: Houston, Texas - exact location TBA
SOME OF THE TOPICS I WILL COVER:
Pre-visualizing and preparing for a shoot
Where I get my inspiration and how I use what I research to make my work better
Using a location to it's max
Connecting with vendors and creating awesome styled shoots
Photo editing and my workflow
+ MUCH, MUCH MORE!

Michelle and Daniel are getting married here in North Carolina, but they live in Dallas and were kind enough to fly me out there for their engagement session. I must say, this was one of my favorite engagement sessions to date! The location was amazing, the couple was even more amazing, and we had enough time to do some experimenting.
Thanks to a bit of research and some suggestions from fellow photographers, I was able to give Michelle and Danny quite a few great spots to choose from for their photos. When they chose The Cotton Mill I was giddy with excitement, especially after previewing it the day before with Michelle. This place is jam packed with awesomeness!! And so are Michelle and Danny. ;) |

Michelle's favorite movie is Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory and Danny's is Requiem For A Dream. I totally forgot to tell them this while I was visiting, but those are two of my favorite movies of all time! I have quotes from Willy Wonka all over my facebook page.

The Cotton Mill had props set up in different areas. Possibly for movies? I don't know how there could be another reason for formula x barrels, but I love it!

Favorite shot of the day. Aaand maybe ever. I love the symmetry of the columns, the pop of blue, and Michelle on her tip toes. So sweet and perfect.

Michelle and Danny are awesome. I was snapping away and all of a sudden, this happened. I didn't give them this direction. They just did it. Perfectly. So Michelle and Danny, if you didn't already know, you are awesome.

Second favorite shot of the day. I can have two, right?!

The floors in this area were scary! BIG props to this awesome couple for braving it long enough to grab a few images.

While Michelle and Danny checked on their dogs and did a quick costume change, I had a chance to catch this image of their rings in a puddle below the foyer's fountain. I love it and I hope that the couple does as well!

And I thought Michelle couldn't get any cuter. Then she put on that top that I am so jealous of!

Love this one of Danny. His expression says contentment, sweet love, stability. Aw, Michelle and Danny are in love!! You will not want to miss their vintage-inspired wedding.

We spent the last few moments of daylight with the rest of Michelle and Danny's family. These two cutie patootie pups were a burst of energy and absolutely made my day! They won't be able to make it to NC for the wedding, so it was important for Michelle and Danny to get a few photos with them. It's a way of including them in their big moment and being a dog lover I totally get it!

Michelle and Danny...I don't even know what to say. You are seriously the sweetest couple. I had a wonderful time with you at the engagement shoot and the day before getting to know you over lunch! Thank you so much for booking me for your wedding. I can't wait to see you again and work with you on your big day!!!

Meet Heather and Grahm (and there adorable pup Baxter). They are getting married in May which is just around the corner! Heather and Grahm met at ECU where they went to college. In fact, they even recall the street where they met, which is pretty special. When Heather and I chatted about where they wanted to do there session, she mentioned taking some pictures at their home. I was all for it, and when I pulled up a big smile crossed my face. Heather and Grahm's house was so beautiful and perfect!
Anyone who knows an ECU fan, knows they are a fan to the core. For the first part of the session, Brent and I took some photos of Heather and Grahm sporting their school colors (and jerseys to boot)! Later we ventured into this magical, little forest in the middle of two neighborhoods which was amazing.
While spending time with Heather and Grahm, Brent and I realized how much we were like one another. All of us enjoyed spending time at home, watching favorite shows on TV, playing with the pup and being with our better half. Thanks to Heather and Grahm for a great afternoon! We can't wait until the wedding! |

As I mentioned before, Heather and Grahm met while they were in college. They even have a souvenir to remember there first meet, but "mum's the word" on how they got it!

I love this shot of the family! Baxter is so adorable and he almost looks like he's grinning!

I love how the tree roots are exposed and hanging. So pretty!

There happen to be a small little creek running through the area where we were shooting (mini-waterfalls included), and I couldn't resist asking Heather and Grahm to get a little wet. They were such good sports and walked around in the water with smiles on their faces.

You are both so sweet together!

Thanks again to Heather and Grahm for a great day! It was a blast!

Way back in November of 2010, I sent out a notice that I would be raising money for a trip to Ghana via mini photo shoots. Nicole Faby and her family were quick to jump on this discounted session but before we squared things away she mentioned that she was pregnant and would love some maternity pictures with the family closer to her due date. How could I refuse!
I met up with Nicole and her super cute family in a location of their choice in Raleigh, North Carolina. This was the first shot of the day. |

This image reminds me of all of my friends and their kiddos. Trying to find a moment of peace in the midst of kids running around the house can be a challenge!

I said "tickle fight" and Luke took that as "mess up your sister's hair". Ehh, same thing. Haha

At the end of the shoot, Nicole wanted a few shots with just David and herself...and their little bump. Congrats Nicole! You are a gorgeous pregnant woman!

Thank you, Nicole, for supporting my trip to Ghana! It was a pleasure meeting you and your family and I wish you all the best with your new adventure!!

Grey and John are two of the sweetest people I've ever met, and so clearly in love that you can't help but smile when you're around them.

These two are so cute together!

On paper, you might not ever put them together - Grey loves Nicholas Sparks books and all things girly. John loves watching football and was a boxing aficionado. But isn't that what's so great about love? You can't explain it, but it just works!

This shot is my absolute favorite of the day! I love the weathered wall, I love the tree with the roots growing out from underneath the wall, but most of all, I love how Grey and John are so wrapped up in each other.

When I asked them what would be unique about their wedding, John answered, "It will be ours, and I will be marrying the love of my life. Isn't that enough?" I love that answer.

The looks on their faces here just make me happy - two people in love!

Grey and John worked some connections so we could shoot in this room. It took a little doing, but it's John's favorite space, so we had to shoot there!

And while we were there, he serenaded Grey with a beautiful song. He's quite the talented guitar player!

These are a close second as my favorite shots of the day! Elevator kisses are the best!
Grey and John, I am so excited to see you again in a few weeks for your wedding! |
