Brent killed it in the TruthBooth at Sarah & Nate's wedding and ran it throughout the night. We spiced things up a bit and added a little fun to our backdrop with a pattern to match the wedding day. I think you'll find this crowd to be bold, brazen, and bound to create a fun time. Oh, and they are a little geeky of course. Enjoy!

In an earlier blog post you met Carly and Chris who were coming up on their wedding date very quickly! Well the wedding was wonderful and Carly and Chris were so happy. Though it will be a little while until a sneak peek on the blog of the wedding, I wanted to post images from Carly's bridal session.

Since Carly was getting married downtown she thought it would be great to incorporate some of the the local scenes in downtown Wilmington. After the spending some time in the historic heart of Wilmington we decided to head out to the more rural parts. Since Carly was open to anything, I decided to play and create a little more out in the countryside. The bugs were terrible, but the moments were worth it. Thanks again to Carly for a fun session and congratulations to both you and Chris on your marriage!

I love the light in this next series of images. It's so pretty and reflects of Carly beautifully.

Carly has a pair of boots that she loves and wanted to wear during her session. A grassy field is a great place to use them!

I thought it would be fun to play around with the idea of a simple tea and cakes party during the session. Thanks to Coastal Cupcakes (a local cupcake boutique) for supplying the sweet treats during the session. Yum!

Thanks Carly! You were beautiful during your session, beautiful on your wedding day, and beautiful still!

Meghan and Anand got married in beautiful Charleston, SC. There is just something romantic about that city - the old houses, the southern charm - it's perfect for a wedding. They took full advantage of that and were married at the William Aiken House in the middle of downtown. From the outside, it's unassuming, marked with a historical plaque, but once you walk into the courtyard, your breath is taken away!

Meghan and her girls got ready in the carriage house, just at the back of the courtyard. The light streaming through the window made for some really dramatic images.

Meghan is just a beautiful woman... and wait until you see her in the dress!

Lindsey came with me as my second shooter, and she did a great job capturing the details below. I love that mirror, and those incredible bracelets - part of the bridesmaids' outfits for the day.

Did I mention that I loved the light by that window? Meghan getting some final touch ups.

Anand sent Meghan the sweetest card to read before the ceremony. This simple little gesture was so meaningful - you could see the tears in Meghan's eyes. But she held it together very well!

Her dad's first glimpse of his little girl in her dress...

I love the purple of the girls' dresses. Such a nice pop of color!

Meghan was all smiles as she anticipated the beginning of the ceremony.

And check out those SHOES!! Every girl needs a pair of ROCKING purple heels, right?

Just a few of the details - in the little boxes were daisy seeds. Guests were invited to take one and plant them at their homes to increase their chances for love. You know, "He loves me... He loves me not... He loves me!"

And aren't those invitations so cool? I love the map of Charleston that they included!

Meghan's theme for the whole day was "Steel Magnolias". What a great inspiration for a southern wedding! Now, clearly she didn't go with Blush and Bashful as her colors, but everything about this wedding exuded southern charm and beauty. I love these details of the tables. The crocheted table runners were one of my favorite touches.

A look at the ceremony site - right out in the courtyard of the house. I adore outdoor weddings!

Meghan and Anand decided to do a Honey Ceremony rather than a Unity Candle. You'll see some images of this tradition later - but I loved the honey pot that Anand picked up for the occasion.

Anand waiting for his beautiful bride.

And the first time they've seen each other all day. I love this moment. Anand's face was very serious, or at least very composed, until he caught a glimpse of Meghan. Then he broke out into a HUGE grin!

Here's the honey ceremony - it's all about celebrating the sweet things in life and savoring them with one another. Each person dips a finger in the honey and lets the other person taste it. I had never seen this tradition before - but I thought it was really special!

For their exit and the cocktail hour, the Dixieland Band played some great southern tunes.

A few guests enjoying the cocktail hour.

There was an awesome hedge maze that the kids just loved!

Newlyweds!

Big smiles and nothing but joy from Meghan and Anand. Just as it should be!

The William Aiken House has amazing yellow walls, and we just had to use them!

And the party began with a sweet first dance...

As the sun set, the guests enjoyed their cake after dinner. Meghan had both a traditional wedding cake and, keeping with the Steel Magnolias theme, a red velvet armadillo cake!

I love the feeling of this photo - with the candles hanging from the trees, and the guests all socializing.

Meghan and Anand, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your day. I know that the two of you are bound for great things together!

Gwen and Keith are two lovebirds from Arkansas celebrating their one year anniversary. What better way to celebrate a year of marriage than to get pictures taken in North Carolina?! :) This sweet pair was a joy to be around. When people really love each other, it just shines through.

We started our shoot in an open field with tall, romantic grasses. I love how Charlotte, North Carolina has little spots like this just minutes outside of the city!

I always like to get to know the people I take pictures of a little bit and incorporate their personalities into their shoots. When I asked Gwen and Keith what they liked to do for fun, they said they loved the outdoors and flying kites...

...as well as photography! I was drooling over these two vintage finds. Aren't they beautiful? The camera's aren't my favorite part of the pics, though. It's the fact that we got both of their wedding bands in the shot. :)

Congratulations to you two on your one year wedding anniversary! Thank you so much for letting me celebrate with you.

Courtney and Geoff's wedding was like a fairytale. They were married at the beautiful Vesuvius Vineyards just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina on a lovely sunny day. The staff were running here and there as were the bridal party. As I began to walk up the stairs of this charming estate to see the bride, I heard the hustle and bustle in the conversation... little phrases like "where are my shoes?" and "does anyone have a curling iron I can borrow?" coming from the opposite room. haha I love weddings!

The bride's room at Vesuvius Vineyards is pretty spectacular. I was in love with the romantic paintings on the wall, the fully furnished doll house, and the creamy light that poured into the space.

Courtney. You are gorgeous. I am incredibly jealous of your freckles!

Just minutes before the ceremony, Courtney and Geoff "met" for just a moment. They didn't see each other, but just a moment of holding hands through the front door of the estate was enough to calm any nerves and raise the excitement level for the ceremony! I loved this moment.

Rebecca joined me for this wedding. She captured some amazing moments during the day, including this one of Courtney's mom. Amazing, Rebecca!

The ceremony began with the bride and her father being escorted to the aisle by horse and carriage. Did I mention this wedding was a fairytale?

This look in Geoff's eyes...this is love.

Courtney and Geoff slipped away for a few moments to enjoy a carriage ride and take a few more pictures alone. This was one of MY favorite moments of the day because this newly married couple actually got a few minutes to talk to each other on their wedding day!

The style of the reception was laid back and fun. Guests had BBQ and coleslaw for dinner and buckeyes for dessert! What a lovely way to personalize the wedding day!

Another magical shot from Rebecca. The first dance was so sweet!

Courtney and Geoff, thank you for inviting me into your lives and into your fairytale love story. Congratulations!
