Brin and Brent are the kind of couple that I knew I was going to love when I read their Get to Know You Sheet!
We like the same TV shows, we have the exact same favorite restaurant, and we even love the same things at that restaurant. Brin and I order the same thing there, and Brent and my husband order the same thing as each other as well. How hilarious is that?
They're silly and fun-loving, and they love to laugh, in case you couldn't tell... |

I love it when people get all tangled up in each other's arms.

Umm, how gorgeous is Brin?

After a while at the lake, we headed downtown near to where their wedding ceremony will be.

Brent only smiles this way when he's thinking of Brin.

Bravo, Brent. Great job on this ring!

Congratulations on your enagement, Brin and Brent! Enjoy this time, and I can't wait to see you both again at your wedding!

Rachel and Ben are seriously super cute! Their first thought when it came to their engagement session was to do part of it at the Asheville Farmer's Market. I thought it was a brilliant idea, so that's where we started out.
In the afternoon and evening at the Farmer's Market, things are quiet, which is nice, but it also means that most of the colorful produce is put away. But we had these amazing watermelons that were everywhere! |

I love the way Rachel's blue dress an red hair just pop against all that green. Rachel and Ben were so cute, and willing to be a little silly with me, which I love in a couple!

Looking for a bit more color, we headed over to the greenhouse area, and we were not disappointed. Lots of flowers, lots of color. See how they're looking at each other here? This is real. This is exactly the way they look at each other all the time. So. In. Love.

PS, who doesn't love a dress with pockets?? It is my new favorite thing about dresses.

I just love the lines in this shot, and how their arms kind of create the opposite angle as the siding... shapes are fun!

We had just a bit of rain for a little while, but Rachel and Ben handled it like champs!

I want this building to be in Raleigh. I love all the windows and the different colors!

One of Ben's friends was nice enough to bring over Rachel and Ben's dog, Gracie, toward the end of our session. Gracie was super excited to be on camera, and I think they just make the cutest little family!

Rachel and Ben, thanks for spending the afternoon with me! I had a great time with the two of you, and I can't wait for your wedding!

When you were young, did you ever dream of having your wedding in your parents' backyard? I know I did! It's that perfect childhood fantasy to be somewhere so comfortable, surrounded by the people you love while you say your "I Do's" to the man you want to spend the rest of your life with. Georgia must have had that dream as well, and the fact that her backyard is overlooking the most spectacular mountainside in Brevard, North Carolina, makes this dream a pretty amazing one!
When I arrived, this beautiful bride was just moments from slipping into her dress with a little help from her sister and mother. That amazing dress is made of linen and vintage lace. Ah-mazing. |

Just around the corner in their parents' kitchen, the cake was getting its final touches.

Georgia and Josh wanted to see each other before the wedding, so we arranged for them to meet up on their spectacular balcony. Can you imagine growing up in a place like this? What a wonderful life!

Georgia specifically requested a shot with their father's tractor. I love it when images are personal!

Everything at the house was left alone, except for the addition of the tent in the side yard. This image really spoke to me because it's a beautiful timeline of all the hard work that has gone into this property to make it their home.

The ceremony took place a few yards from their house in a field that had a hole cut into it to place the seating inside. Conventional means of transportation just didn't cut it, so guests arrived in these mules. By the way, I had no idea what a mule was until I arrived that day. So fun!

That dramatic sky made for some gorgeous images at the ceremony. It also cooled everyone off a little bit during this abnormally warm summer.

Georgia's father made the cross that stood at the altar.

Congratulations to the happy couple!!!

Back at Georgia's house, the reception was set up beautifully.

A huge thanks to Renee', our former intern, for grabbing some of these detail shots.

I can't tell you what Georgia and Josh were saying at this moment, but I hope it was something like "you'd better not get cake all over my face!".

The band was flown in from Atlanta, where Georgia and Josh live now. They were high energy and so talented!

Near the end of the night, the lead singer changed costumes and sang "Billy Jean". He was such an entertainer and the crowd LOVED him and his dance moves!

Meet Georgia's grandmother. She is 91 years old and had the time of her life! I love moments like this. It makes me feel honored all over again to be invited into the lives of a family during such an important day.

Georgia and Josh, you have been so wonderful and gracious! I had a fantastic time working with you and wish you the absolute best in your marriage! Congratulations!!!!

Brent and I recently traveled to the heart of Clinton, North Carolina for Lesley and James' backyard country wedding. Everyone was busy shuffling around with last minute details before the ceremony began. Brent met up with James and his guys while I headed over to Lesley's home (which was only one house over from James). When I walked into see Lesley she was practically glowing with excitement, which put a big smile on my face.
If you saw Lesley and James' e-session on the blog then you already know a little about their love story. James met Lesley at a Christmas Cantata at her church. James spotted Lesley on stage while she was singing in the choir. That look started the spark in their story. The funny thing is Lesley and James have only been five minutes down the road from one another since they were young. James was friends with Lesley's brother and was over at her house all the time. Who knew that God would bring James back over to Lesley's house for different reasons!
Lesley's family has a beautiful home with lots of space to have a grand wedding. Over the months, her family has been prepping the surrounding areas for the special day. They even planted wild flowers to bloom just for the wedding! And all of their hard work paid off! The wedding was lovely with vibrant colors and details personal to Lesley and James. The day was filled with loads of dancing, ice cold Coke-a-Colas, summer love and memories that will last a lifetime. Thanks to Lesley and James and your family and friends for letting us be a part!
|

I love this picture of James that Brent captured. Nothing like taking a moment to relax before you marry the girl who stole your heart.

Loved the mix of flowers used in the wedding. The array of bright colors and various flowers used were beautiful and fresh.

Loved the colors of Lesley's bouquet! When Lesley got ready to walk down the aisle she was hidden by a big ruffled parasol (in the right hand corner) so James wouldn't see her until the very last moment.

I love this shot of Lesley's mom looking at her daughter walking down the aisle. She looks so proud in the moment.

The arbor where Lesley and James said their vows was so pretty and overflowing with flowers! Thanks to the Dutch Iris Florist Dutch Iris Florist for the ceremony decorations and linens at the reception.

There was a big ready barn on the property that I wanted to use for pictures. I love the contrast between the bridal party and the barn. So fun!

After we were finished with the Bridal Party, Brent and I snuck away with Lesley and James for some time alone. It was a chance for both of them to take some time to enjoy a moment with one another as husband and wife!

As I mentioned earlier, wild flowers were planted just for the wedding. Behind the wild flowers were open fields of wheat. It looked like a see of flowing gold when the sun hit the oats. it was so gorgeous!

One of my personal favorites from the day.

I just love southern weddings! All the personal touches adds to the southern charm. The flowers/decor at the reception were provided Angi Waller from Mt. Olive, NC.

Ginny Evans with Evans Catering (from Roseboro, NC) provided the guests with some delicious samplings from the south. Icy glass cokes, bacon-wrapped sausages, and savory pork were a few of the items enjoy!

A sweet moment shared by Lesley and James during their first dance...

...followed by James letting loose on the dance floor!

It didn't take long for others to join in on the dancing and fellowship of the reception. Everywhere you looked there were smiling faces, heart felt laughs and dancing shoes!

"Have a coke and a smile."

As the evening progressed, and the sun started to set, candles shined brightly throughout the reception. From a distance the tent glowed with memories in the making.

At the end of the evening, everyone gathered with sparklers in hand to wish Lesley and James a blissful honeymoon and wonderful life together.

Congrats to Lesley and James for a beautiful wedding and happy life together!
