Hi there! Welcome to the Millie Holloman Photography blog. Our company has just one name, but we’re an entire team of crazy, creative, passionate, professional photographers. We’re based all over North Carolina (Wilmington, Raleigh, & Charlotte), but we work all over the world. What do we shoot? In one word: Love. Wedding Love. Baby Love. Family Love. Love of details. Love of design. Love of nature. And this blog? Well, it showcases the images, the people, and the stuff we want to share, both professionally and personally. So what are you waiting for? Come on in and look around.
We want you to get the most out of your time here, so here are a few helpful tips: Check out the text block above that says: “photographers”. Use it to get to know just one photographer better by sorting just their images, twitter updates or bio. Wondering who shot what? Look for the signature on the bottom left of each photograph. Looking for something specific? Type the topic or a keyword into the search bar above for related results.

My childhood friend Matt (AKA Matthew to everyone else) told me about 8 months ago over breakfast that he and his wife, Jen, were expecting a child. I remember telling him how awesome I thought it was and then explaining the seriousness of the situation to him. "Matt, you are going to be a Dad... you are going to be responsible for a little human life!" As if he didn't already have a grasp on how big of a deal this was and just how life changing it would be. It's a good thing he had me there to freak him out. haha
Almost eight months later came little Ms. Eden and I was elated to meet her for the first time (just a week after she was born) when I set up a little photo shoot just for her, take a peak! |

Earlier this year I photographed Kristin & Matthew's engagement session in downtown Wilmington, I just have been so busy editing I have not had the chance to officially introduce them to all of you here on the blog so here are a few of my favorite from their session. I'll be photographing their wedding this fall!

Figure 8 Island might be my new favorite place to shoot a beach wedding! That's where Lisa and David's wedding took place, and it was amazing!

She had an incredible group of girls, who took incredible care of her the whole day, making sure everything turned out perfectly... and had a lot of fun in the process!

Lisa's beautiful dress came from the Running of the Brides - you know, that day when all the brides-to-be run into the stores and it's a free-for-all to find the perfect dress. I think she ended up with a gem!

These two cuties were the flower girls - and also Lisa's nieces. Aren't they beautiful?

The boys were equally as fun as the girls, and I think that comes through here.

After a few last touches, it was time for the ceremony.

A proud dad, walking his daughter down the aisle. Lisa - you looked absolutely stunning!

There's nothing better than a wedding on the water!

I always love watching brides and grooms put the rings on each other's finger. I think it's a beautiful moment, and there's something about it that just makes it all seem real.

I love this next series. A deserted beach and a beautiful couple always makes for great images. It's like their in their own world.

A few reception details...

A tasty cake by the guys at Flower and Flower.

I love this shot of Lisa and David's sweet first dance!

Figure 8 Island knows how to throw a party, and they know how to make amazing food, too!

A beautiful sunset to end a most perfect day...

And then it was time to PARRRR-TAY!

Lisa and David, thanks for letting me be a part of your wedding! It was a gorgeous day!

Rebecca and Matt are getting married next month! I'm very excited about their wedding as not only are they an adorable couple, they've got an all star team of vendors lined up to pull off their big day. While these two were in town tying up loose ends and finalizing details for their wedding we decided to try for an early morning engagement session in one of their favorite spots, Oak Island!

Matt's favorite spot at Oak Island for apparent reasons: the total randomness.

I really love that I saw this little spot. One of my favorite things to do in a spot I've shot at before is to try and find new places and ways to shoot. This time I was there at low tide and spotted these on the shore so we had to take full advantage of the opportunity!

LOVE this shot... so sweet!

These next two might be my favorite from the entire session... I love everything about them. How they embrace, Rebecca's face, the rope laid gently and casually beside them, and how amazingly in love and comfortable they look together. Swoon!

I got to be there to see Bethany's face as she read the sweet card and opened the gift that Andy sent for her... The card was so sweet that she cried, and the gift was equally awesome! An iPad! Perfect for the trip they were taking for their honeymoon!

Bethany chose an amazing dress. And to make it even more amazing, it had pockets! Her bridesmaids were super sweet and made sure that there were no wrinkles and everything was just perfect.

While I was hanging out with the girls, my second shooter, Mary, was over at the adorable chapel at Airlie Gardens to capture some of the details there.

I love this series of Andy as he waits for his bride.

And as she is given away to him - doesn't he look like a happy man?

The ceremony was beautiful...

And ended with a perfect kiss!

I love a happy bride and groom!

All the flowers were beautiful, and I particularly loved Bethany's bouquet - all that white and green texture makes me happy.

Beautiful couple, trees dripping with spanish moss... love!

On the way to the reception, we made a slight detour to the edge of the Intracoastal Waterway for a few photos. The wind was whipping and I love the way Bethany's veil is blowing around here.

During the reception, I was able to steal Bethany and Andy from their guests for just a few minutes while the sun was setting and the light was perfect.

People in love is really the most beautiful thing in the world.

The cake from Flower and Flour was gorgeous, and tasty, too!

The toasts were sweet, funny, and heartfelt... everything a wedding toast should be.

And then the party started!

And these people know how to party!

Bethany and Andy - thanks for letting me be a part of your amazing wedding day. It was absolutely beautiful, and I wish you all the best in your marriage!
