Kelly and Justin's wedding brought us to the state of Ohio for the first time ever. Their ceremony and reception took place right across the water from Cedar Point (where I'm told they have the highest roller coasters in the world). We had the best weather anyone could ask for and and exceptionally bright day... Kelly and Justin were both beaming with excitement the entire day.

Kelly had a beautiful pair of Manola Blahniks.

She also purchased a brand new pair of chucks for both her and her Dad...

Since Kelly and Justin saw one another before their ceremony, we were able to capture shots of them with their wedding party before the ceremony to cut down on picture time afterwards.

Moments before the ceremony began Kelly gifted her Dad with his brand new pair of custom chucks as a total surprise and he was super excited to wear them. She told me he'd been wearing chucks all her life and he wears them everyday so he quickly traded out his un-comfortable dress shoes for these custom chucks and Kelly did the same!

Immediately following the ceremony we jumped on board a friends boat for some shots on the lighthouse at Lyman Harbor.

Here is a shot Rachel grabbed of Cedar Point right across the waterway...

If you remember Kelly and Justin's e-session then you know they met on a fishing pier so the favor for each guest was a hook and fishing bob.

This crowd knew how to have a good time, we went through just about every music genre you can imaging which included ending the night with a Ho-down!

Amy and Andrew are an awesome couple and they are getting married next year. When I chatted with Amy about her session she mentioned that she wanted to do something that was fun and flirty. Something that would show the fun and carefree in them. I decided to have them meet me down in Carolina Beach on the boardwalk for an afternoon in the sun.
Amy and Andrew met while working. Amy was a sales rep for a couple of magazines in her area, and Andrew was a graphic designer and created the print ads that Amy sold for the magazines. Working together built their friendship, which later sparked their love interest. Amy and Andrew love the beach and anywhere on the water for that matter. They love to be adventurous and do things like dirt-biking and skydiving! But also spend time with friends and family.
Brent and I met Amy and Andrew at a local rental shop called Pleasure Island Rentals. You can rent scooters, cruisers and even purchase brand new bikes. The manager was nice enough to let us "test" out one of the bikes around the store. I love that Amy was willing to hop up on the bike even wearing her cute dress! |

Love the shot that Brent grabbed through the bikes. Fun!

We decided to grab some ice cream from a little ice cream shop called "Krazy Kones." The ice cream had different flavors swirled around the outside of the ice cream. It was really pretty but melted pretty quick on that very hot day. It was still tasty!

I love this wall where the colors meet. So pretty!

We were lucky enough to catch a small fair that was set up near the boardwalk. We purchased some tickets and had Amy and Andrew enjoy the ride. Brent and I positioned ourselves in different spots so we could double up on our chances of grabbing some scrambler shots.

I LOVE the colors in this wall!

I like how Andrew almost has a "beard" of cotton candy. Yum!

Amy and Andrew wanted to have some fun pictures and they were willing to do whatever....

...and I mean whatever. Love it!

As the night drew closer, we decided to take some shots with everything lit up. It was so pretty!

We thought it would be fun to play around with some motion at the end of the night. While Brent grabbed the shot, I assisted with the writing. It took a few tries but I loved the end result.

Thanks again to Amy and Andrew for such a fun day. We had a blast and we know that your wedding day will be fabulous!

I met up with Paige and Derek a few weeks ago for their engagement session - let me tell you, there is no sweeter couple around! It was threatening rain, and we even caught a few sprinkles, but they were so great, it didn't bother them one bit!

I loved this weeping willow tree - there's something magical about the way the leaves drip down around Paige and Derek, the way the light filters through, and a beautiful couple right in the middle of it all.

I love the way Paige looks at Derek - love love love.

What could be better than sitting beside your love, with your feet in the water, watching a storm roll in? In my opinion, not a thing.

Paige and Derek wanted to bring along their puppy to get a few shots of the whole family together. I love a cute little family!

Can't you just feel their love here?

We opted for some shots by the water, since Paige and Derek are getting married in Manteo next summer. I love the way this turned out...

Check out those blue eyes!

Paige brought along a book that they're going to use for their guest book, and they personalized it right there...

Paige and Derek - thanks for being such troopers in the rain! You guys rock! I can't wait for your wedding next summer - it's going to be amazing!

I first met Alicia and Stephen during their maternity session in Downtown Wilmington and it was there that they informed me of their plans to have me come out again once little Owen arrived. Fast forward a few weeks before Owen's arrival and some of Stephen's co-workers called to purchase a gift card for their first family photo shoot. What a perfect gift! Just a little over a week after Owen was born I headed over to their home, little did I know what a great place they had so shoot in - fabulous colors and decors, natural light and lots of love!
Owen was just as sweet as could be and he pretty much slept through the entire session. A special thanks to my Mom for joining me on this shoot to assist in making those magic baby poses! |

Owen opened his eyes maybe 3 times during the entire shoot. I happened to be ready for one of them... then is was right back to sleep seconds later!

This little pup was awesome!

Such a sweet family shot...

Owen's nursery with artwork handmade by Alicia (Mommy), love it!

I have been super excited about showing Katherine and Chris' wedding! This wedding was all around beautiful, sweetly intimate and perfect for Katherine and Chris. One of the cool things about this wedding was that it took place on a lovely Monday morning, at one of Wilmington's serene spots, Airlie Gardens.
There was still a touch of morning dew on the ground when Brent and I arrived at the Lebanon Chapel that sits quietly in the gardens at Airlie. Salt Harbor Designs was already hard at work putting the finishing touches on the sweet southern design of the reception. Everything was perfect!
It wasn't long until family and friends started to arrive for the special event. Everyone was full of smiles and excitement. I could tell that Chris was happy to see that this day had finally arrived. He joked around with family and enjoyed a refreshing glass of lemonade before the ceremony. Now, everything was set and all we needed was the lovely bride, Katherine. |

Once again, Salt Harbor Designs has blown my mind with their creativity. Guests wrote their personal wishes for Katherine and Chris on beautiful lace handkerchiefs and then hung them up for the couple to see. Love the personal touch.

Everyone included in the bridal party was family to Katherine and Chris. I love when family plays such an important role.

It wasn't long until Katherine arrived with her father by her side. She was beautiful, excited and ready to stand side by side with her groom.

I love when a father has the chance to give away his daughter. It's such a special moment.

This was a day of celebration and laughter!

It was also a day of heart-felt moments and sincere emotions.

Love, love, love the reception design. A HUGE thanks to Salt Harbor Designs for all the lovely details!

The flowers, the lace, the mason jars, everything! Perfect!

I love a groom with a sense of humor!

Katherine and Chris you are such beautiful couple!

A Southern Thyme Catering provided all of the guests with mounds of delicious southern comforts. Deviled eggs, succotash, BBQ Sundae, and fried chicken were just a few of the menu items. No better way to satisfy your taste buds!

One of my favorite ring shots ever!

Nicki's Cakes provided a gorgeous cake customized just for Katherine and Chris. The intricate, lace detail is outstanding!

A summer wedding isn't complete without ice cream (and Kilwin's to boot). Cool and refreshing!

During the reception, the guests enjoyed croquet and bocce ball at their leisure.

Many of Katherine and Chris' guest traveled into Wilmington for their wedding. Before guests left, they were presented with a basket filled with delicious food (prepared by A Southern Thyme Catering) for the road. What an awesome parting gift!

Thanks again to Katherine and Chris (and all of your family and friends) for allowing me and Brent to be a part of your wedding. We wish you many years of love and happiness with one another!
