Hi there! Welcome to the Millie Holloman Photography blog. Our company has just one name, but we’re an entire team of crazy, creative, passionate, professional photographers. We’re based all over North Carolina (Wilmington, Raleigh, & Charlotte), but we work all over the world. What do we shoot? In one word: Love. Wedding Love. Baby Love. Family Love. Love of details. Love of design. Love of nature. And this blog? Well, it showcases the images, the people, and the stuff we want to share, both professionally and personally. So what are you waiting for? Come on in and look around.

We want you to get the most out of your time here, so here are a few helpful tips: Check out the text block above that says: “photographers”. Use it to get to know just one photographer better by sorting just their images, twitter updates or bio. Wondering who shot what? Look for the signature on the bottom left of each photograph. Looking for something specific? Type the topic or a keyword into the search bar above for related results.

christmas at the barkers

12.09.10 ~ Life, Rachel ~ posted by Rachel

Andrew and I bought our very first house this year! We've been married for 7 years, but the move from Ohio to North Carolina then trying to find the right area of Charlotte to settle in kept us out of buying for much longer than I ever expected when we said "I do". I have been waiting and waiting for the holidays to arrive this year so I could decorate properly for the first time ever!

If you know me well, you know that I get a little antsy if I don't have a creative outlet in one form or another. With wedding season coming to a close, I focused my creative juices on making ornaments and other lovely things for our home. I thought I'd share some of the items I made with all of you - hope you enjoy!

I had so much fun making the ornaments. Who knew styrofoam core and a little hot glue could look so great?!

Just for the record, I absolutely did not make the stockings. I wish I could say that I did, but alas. Maybe I'll make my New Year's resolution to learn to crochet. :)

We have a few fun traditions here at the Barker house during Christmas. We have a second tree set in the back of the house that we call our Charlie Brown Christmas tree. It's the wackiest tree ever, with homemade ornaments as well as the craziest, ugliest ornaments we can find in the store each year.

Andrew's pick for ugliest ornament is the one on the left. Mine is the one on the right. I think Andrew won this year. :)

We take our puppy on walks almost every day through the neighborhood. Lately I've been noticing acorn tops everywhere along the pathways, so I decided to take a few home and add some rolled felt balls for my ornament on the crazy tree this year. I think it turned out cute. :)

The last thing I made was a wreath from leftover fabric, yarn, and even old sweaters. I had a lot of fun with this one and think it turned out great!

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!!
