carey + austin . bald head island, nc

Carey and Austin's wedding on Bald Head Island here in North Carolina was nothing short of spectacular! It was a beautiful, sunny day which was perfect for the ceremony located by the lighthouse and a fun-filled reception at the lush Bald Head Island Club. Carey and Austin's carefree attitude made photographing this wedding so much fun!

While I was with Carey as she slipped on her dress, the guys were waiting by the lighthouse. Love this shot that Courtney, my amazing 2nd shooter, caught of the guys' jackets.




Carey and her bridesmaids took a few quick photos in the backyard of the getting ready house. This group of girls had energy for days and were lots of fun to photograph!





Moments before the ceremony began, Carey gets a last minute touchup.


The location choice for the ceremony was gorgeous. The bride entered into the space through this beautiful fence and the couple said their vows under a canopy of spanish moss overlooking the lighthouse. It could not have been more picture perfect!



Salt Harbor Designs always blow me away with their amazing bouquets. Can you believe the peonies? Gasp.

While Carey and Austin waited for their families to assemble for formal pictures, I snuck them across the street for a few quick photos. These are some of my favorite of the day!







Carey gave Austin's dad a quick kiss goodbye before they made their getaway in a classic Bald Head Island golf cart.

Austin requested these next images of Carey alone. She is a stunning bride!



The reception was held at the Bald Head Island Club. It is one of my favorite locations of all time to shoot. There is always beautiful light, the atmosphere is intimate, and the staff at the club are phenomenal. Add in Salt Harbor Designs and let the oohing and ahhing begin.


First dance!




Austin's father presented the bride and groom with a gag gift that really got the crowd laughing. So funny!






After the guests enjoyed the yummy cake and sweets, the dancing began. It was a great party! It seemed every guest was on the dance floor!



Lindsey, the event director for this beautiful wedding, is also close friends with the bride. After her duties as director were completed she joined the dance floor as a guest. That's her on the left. Lindsey, you are gorgeous and so sweet!


Carey and Austin left their wedding to bubbles and cheers. Congratulations to you both!!
