Hi there! Welcome to the Millie Holloman Photography blog. Our company has just one name, but we’re an entire team of crazy, creative, passionate, professional photographers. We’re based all over North Carolina (Wilmington, Raleigh, & Charlotte), but we work all over the world. What do we shoot? In one word: Love. Wedding Love. Baby Love. Family Love. Love of details. Love of design. Love of nature. And this blog? Well, it showcases the images, the people, and the stuff we want to share, both professionally and personally. So what are you waiting for? Come on in and look around.

We want you to get the most out of your time here, so here are a few helpful tips: Check out the text block above that says: “photographers”. Use it to get to know just one photographer better by sorting just their images, twitter updates or bio. Wondering who shot what? Look for the signature on the bottom left of each photograph. Looking for something specific? Type the topic or a keyword into the search bar above for related results.

06.23.08 ~ Updates ~ posted by Millie

I have poured through many emails from our most recent photo shoot giveaway reading about many children facing struggles and trials in their life. Some have made me laugh, some have made me cry. I have definitely scored a deeper appreciation for parents who have children with disabilities and I am in awe of their strength and dedication!

No story tugged on my heart quite like Deallaney's. I remember watching a documentary several years ago on television about children with progeria. When Deallaney's Aunt Misty sent me an email to win the free shoot I knew I had to meet her!

Progeria is a rare, fatal genetic condition that causes children to age at almost 7 times the normal rate. Only 1 in 8 million children are born with this disease. Deallaney's condition is even rarer. She was actually born showing signs of the disease. Most children with progeria don't show signs until one to two years old. Although Deallaney is 4 years old she only weighs around 14 pounds, her little sister even outweighs her by about 10 pounds. She was born weighing just 2 pounds 9 ounces!

This year Deallaney started attending pre-school and she is loving it... Aunt Misty said, "she thinks she is a big girl now. It's so cute how some of the kids in the class are so protective of her, because she is so, so tiny."

Deallaney has faced multiple surgeries but is currently doing great! "She is quick to tell you that she does not like that hotel. That's what she calls the hospital" says Misty.

I will be working out my shoot with Deallaney for this fall very soon. Stay tuned to see what great images we will come up with to capture Deallaney's strong spirit and daily struggles!

Below you will find a video of Deallaney asking me to pick her...

A huge thank you to everyone who submitted stories for the give away. I wanted everyone to win! If you did not win the session this time, please try again. We will be doing many more projects like this in the near future!
