We’re based all over North Carolina (Wilmington, Raleigh, & Charlotte), but we work all over the world. What do we shoot? In one word: Love. Wedding Love. Baby Love. Family Love. Love of details. lauren + michael

When I heard Lauren was engaged I was hoping I would get the privilege of shooting her wedding. I have known Lauren since I first moved to Wilmington, when she was just a little girl. I actually remember teaching her in kids church and eventually youth group, watching her grow into the woman she has become. When Lauren went away to college in Charlotte and came back with Michael, we knew they would be together forever. Michael is such a great guy and the way he cares for and protects Lauren is just so sweet! You will also see a familiar face in these photos as Lauren's sister, Lindsey, is our album designer here at MHP.

We started out the day with the guys in the parking lot at the church... it was HOT (literarily the hottest day in June) and we had about 5 minutes to get all the shots we needed before the guys got too hot. We had to keep them nice and cool for the ceremony so we grabbed these in record time!


I always love it when couples decided to do first sight (see one another before the ceremony). Lauren & Michael had limited time between their ceremony and reception and they wanted to spend it focusing on them and their wedding party. This allowed us to get all of the family formals done before the wedding even began and allowed the couple to spend more time celebrating with their guests at the reception.

We set up the first sight perfectly and escorted Lauren out to meet Michael. Once she tapped him on the shoulder, he turned around to get a good look at his bride. His expression says it all, he grinned from ear to ear then he took her hand and kissed it... love that!

This is the last shot I grabbed of Lauren Michael together before we heard them announcing the wedding party and had to run across the lawn to make it for their introduction.


A little first dance action!


Lauren went first and if you can't tell, she totally slammed Michael with cake so she was deserving of this shot...


Cute naked babies! I told you it was HOT outside, didn't I? Well I was not joking, these babies were getting so hot they got stripped down to their diapers for the whole reception. Aren't they adorable?!


If you have been a blog stalker for a while (like the old MHP blog) you will remember that Michael is really into cigars for special occasions. Part of their engagement session was shot inside of a walk in humidor at a local cigar shop. Michael brought along some cigars for him and his groomsmen to smoke and I managed to snag a couple for the ring shots.

I was in the tent at the reception and they were playing YWCA when I looked over I saw Michael and his Dad following the hand motions to the song.
