danielle + joseph . airlie gardens . wilmington, nc

06.01.09 ~ Weddings ~ posted by Brent & Amanda

Danielle and Joseph were married in the beautiful Airlie Gardens, right here in Wilmington. Brent headed over to where the guys were getting ready while Kayleigh and I (she is training as a second shooter for the fall) ended up over at Danielle's house with her and her ladies. The house was full of excitement and encouragement as everyone started to get ready for the "big day."

I quickly started shooting the moments as they were happening. I love seeing the joy and "giddiness" spread over brides while they get ready. And that joy continues to grow until the moment when she locks eyes with her groom. Then all you see is the love and pure happiness between them both. Yeah, those are definitely some of my favorite parts throughout the entire day.

Thanks so much to Danielle and Joseph and all of their family and friends for letting our team be a part of their memorable day. Best wishes as you live life and make more great memories!

A sweet moment shared between Danielle and her sister while they get ready.

While I was busy with the girls, Brent was hanging out with Joseph and his guys. I love the colors of the bottle in this picture. Nothing like a little Crown Royal to calm the butterflies!

There were so many beautiful details at the wedding and we had to capture as much as we could. If you are wondering who did the fabulous details, flowers and design for this wedding... it's Salt Harbor of course!

Our intern, Kayleigh, is training to second shoot this fall and she's been getting some great stuff. Here is a peek of Danielle's bouquet that she grabbed.

Joseph's Dad held onto the rings before the ceremony for safe keeping.

And as the music began to play announcing the presence of the beautiful bride...

...Joseph stared into the eyes of his exquisite bride. And Danielle stared right back at him, taking in the moment.

I love how happy they are with each other. It's why I love my job!

One of Danielle's favorite parts about Airlie Gardens is the Pergola down by the water. I must say it is one of my favorite parts about the gardens too. It is the perfect place for a new husband and wife to sneak away for some moments alone together.

After the ceremony, everyone headed over to the "Big Oak" for the reception. It was gorgeous and no detail was forgotten. Danielle and Joseph even had parting gifts from the heart. Danielle grew seedlings from her own garden for guests to take home and have for their own homes. I thought it was such a creative way to say "thank you."

Nothing like a boat load of beer on a warm May afternoon...

The newlyweds shared their first dance together under the tent while all of their family and friends watched. Danielle, who is pretty creative herself, made the twinkle-light, grapevine balls that hung above them while they danced.

After everyone had a bite to eat, the cake had been cut and shared (or should I say "smushed") between Danielle and Joseph, it was time to dance!

Everyone was dancing and enjoying themselves!

A classic shot of Joseph and his brothers from his fraternity...

And a bubbly farewell for the happy couple!
