Hi there! Welcome to the Millie Holloman Photography blog. Our company has just one name, but we’re an entire team of crazy, creative, passionate, professional photographers. We’re based all over North Carolina (Wilmington, Raleigh, & Charlotte), but we work all over the world. What do we shoot? In one word: Love. Wedding Love. Baby Love. Family Love. Love of details. Love of design. Love of nature. And this blog? Well, it showcases the images, the people, and the stuff we want to share, both professionally and personally. So what are you waiting for? Come on in and look around.

We want you to get the most out of your time here, so here are a few helpful tips: Check out the text block above that says: “photographers”. Use it to get to know just one photographer better by sorting just their images, twitter updates or bio. Wondering who shot what? Look for the signature on the bottom left of each photograph. Looking for something specific? Type the topic or a keyword into the search bar above for related results.

10.13.09 ~ Weddings ~ posted by Brent & Amanda

One of the best things about being a photographer is that it is always changing. You are always meeting new people, visiting new places and trying new things. And even when you have been to the same places for other weddings, the vibe and atmosphere can be completely different leaving you with a feeling of firsts.

Due to timing and long distances, Brent and I weren't able to photograph and engagement session for Ashley and John Paul who were recently married at the end of the August. I met with Ashley a couple of times before her wedding but didn't meet John Paul until the wedding day. Never having the chance to photograph our couple before the big day can be a little unnerving (because neither really know what to expect). From the moment I walked in to Ashley's room where she and her lovely friends were busy getting ready for the ceremony, all of my wondering diminished. I knew that we were going to have a beautiful day filled with great photos and lots of fun!

Ashley looked absolutely amazing and she shined brighter than everyone else that day! I was excited to see John Paul and the expression that would come across his face when he saw her walking down the aisle towards him.

You can never have too many hands helping the bride get ready for her big day.

And yet, for the groom it appears to be a one-man-band as he gets ready. Ha!

Love this perspective that Brent grabbed of John Paul and all of his groomsmen.

It's almost time!

I think John Paul is completely enthralled with the vision of Ashley that lays before him.

Seal it with a kiss!

Love this shot of the moms. It's always nice to see families come together, excited to celebrate a new branch of the family tree.

I loved everyone in the Bridal party! Everyone was so sweet and gave nothing but their support and happiness to Ashley and John Paul. We had so much fun with them!

Before heading to the cocktail hour, Brent and I took Ashley and John Paul away for some alone time. A beautiful day + a fantastic couple = lovely photos!

One of my favorite things about this photo is how John Paul is sneaking a glance at his bride. It's so sweet!

Love the flare!

A little dancing here...

...a little more dancing...

...and a WHOLE LOT of dancing as the night went on! This reception quickly picked up the beat and everyone was ready to party thanks to Jason Tatum!

Even John Paul's Dad was in on the action. I love it!

Okay, this picture makes me laugh so hard when I see it! John Paul and his guys were hilarious and you would never know what they were going to do.

Ashley leading out on the dance floor.

Beautiful ring shot grabbed by Brent. We actually stuck Ashley and John Paul's rings on their guest sign-in book. The cool thing about this book was that the binding was made out of wood and then hand carved on the front. The guestbook was a gift from one of Ashley and John Paul's many friends.

Sadly, the night had to end. But not without a trolley farewell! Thanks again to Ashley and John Paul for letting us share your day. We hope you enjoy everything in life together!
