Recently, Brent and I had the opportunity to travel to Charleston, SC, (where we enjoyed our honeymoon a little over three years ago) to photograph Matt and Kara's wedding. Earlier in the year, Brent and I shot their engagement session during a terrible thunderstorm (but it made for some wonderfully romantic images). I was so pleased to see bright blue skies and sunshine for their special day.
Matt and Kara are a wonderful couple who have such a tremendous heart for one another and for those all around them. It was apparent to see that they were deeply loved as well by those who were there to help celebrate the occasion. I met up with Kara and her fun ladies at the church where the ceremony would be taking place. Everyone was ready to lend a helping hand, whether it was to steam the veil, add some finishing touches to the hair, or even help Kara slip into her dress.
Thanks again to Matt and Kara for letting Brent and I be apart of your wedding. We know how special that day was to you and we are honored that we could capture those moments that mean so much! May God bless both of you and your future together. I know he has great things in store for you!

Brent headed next door to where Matt was getting ready with his guys. The home belonged to Matt's parents who still live in Charleston. In fact, Matt's Dad was the minister at the church were they were getting married. Even more amazing, was that his Dad married them! I love when family plays such an important role!

Matt leads the way with the biggest grin on his face. I love it!

I was excited to have the chance to work with the tilt shift lens at the wedding, and grabbed some shots of Kara before the ceremony. She is so beautiful!

One last moment to think about everything God has orchestrated...

...to lead up to this very moment.

This church was so beautiful and the lighting was yummy!

Communion was an important part of the ceremony. It was the first act that Matt and Kara did together as husband and wife. After Matt and Kara partook in Communion they invited all of their guests at the wedding to join in as well. It was a very intimate part of the ceremony.

After the ceremony, Brent and I spent a little time with the "lovebirds". I love these moments!

We headed to the reception site which was right on the water in downtown Charleston. As soon as we walked in I fell in love with the checkerboard floor and had to have some shots.

Matt and Kara and their friends and family let loose on the dance floor shortly after we arrived. Everyone was laughing and having a wonderful time. This is what it's all about!

At the end of the night everyone gathered outside to say their best wishes and farewells to Matt and Kara. The sparklers were a nice touch to add to the crisp cool night.

Matt and Kara, much love and many wishes to you!
